Might we get a new patch for Railroads! after Civ Rev comes out, or is it dead on PC and coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii? PSP? DS? Any news of the Challenger, Elizabeth?

It sure would be nice if we got a new patch for it. I still play it on a weekly basis. It STILL crashes in high rez at 1680x1050 with all settings maxxed out. This should not be happening!

I put "Yes!" to a console version, but i'd much rather see a new patch with Vista support and maybe a new locomotive or a Golden Spike scenario and a new locomotive, or even a locomotive pack. In all the interviews, he developers said more could be done for Railroads! Why has it been ignored while CivIV seems to flourish. Don't get me wrong,I love CivIV,but I'd love to see Railroads! reinvigorated somehow! Please.
Well, Firaxis says its games are "games that stand the test of time." We'll just have to wait and see! With all this commotion about Civil Rev. and Civil IV expansion finished, there isn't any mention of any new projects! I hope Sid will take this time to make an expansion for Railroads!

hi all.. yeah i really love SMR.. But my laptop is already running on vista and it is so frustrating when the game keeps on stopping halfway.. By the way, i am quite new to this so can someone pls tell me whether i should get both patches (V1.01 & V1.10) installed or I can just install the latest one, which i did? Thanks..

Any news about Railroads!?
Not yet. Although now that Civiliztation Rev. is done, Sid said he is already set on his next project. I just hope it's something for Railroads! Considering the time since SMR's release, it may be time to redevelop SMR from the ground up. It should should have somewhat better graphics, have more, bigger maps, all SMR's locos plus ones omitted from the release version and then some; tenders for all steamers, more functionality, and be much more stable! You know, much like what RRTDX was to the original!:)

I'd much rather have them optimize the current one, add new trains and maps and rerelease it. It would be easier on my computer.
I hear ya! But maybe it's time Sid did a real RR Tycoon 4...
The good thing is that Sid hasn't left Firaxis, and they hold the rights to RR Tycoon, and SMR, so he can do more with the game if he desired! You know there's a game feedback section on Firaxis's website, don't ya? Go to it, people, and tell them SMR is a great game and we'd like more content for it!
Well, Civ 4: Col. is out, all the announced games on the Firaxis website are done, so we can only wander what Sid is working on now. Let's hope it's some more content for SMR! I would like to see the game updated and rereleased as a "Games for Windows" title!

Me too. It'd have to work for Vista, though. I thought Firaxis said they weren't going to make it work for Vista. I wish they would though.

It has become a Firaxis Clasic. It is rather disappointing, but being one isn't so bad. It's sharing a place of honor with the other Firaxis games. As for it being dead, well, alot of us have alot of faith in it. I hope we'll see something for that:rolleyes: . Sid's finished Colonization and Civ Rev, so one can only hope his next project will be something SMR related. Be it more content, or maybe even a real RR Tycoon 4!

You know what would be nice? If Firaxis developed an expansion pack that updated the game to Games For Windows standards, added what people want to see and retitled it Civilization 4 Railroads!
I hope they will do that, after all, these are "games that stand the test of time." And actually, putting SMR in Classic Firaxis is probably a good move in some ways. It's been sittin' around the now playing list about as long as its been around! I really hope they saw my inquiries in the game feedback section of the site!

What has to happen is a Railroads! fan has to pack all the mods for the game together, we have to send it to Firaxis, and we have to hope they take us seriously.
