In Fort frolic I've noticed tiny specs or spots floating around. They go away when I move and return when I stand still. Is any one else seeing this and is this normal?

Sounds like your graphics card is overheating.

I was in fear of that ,,,,but how do you explain going to a different level,,,such as back to medical pavilion,,and not seeing the specs?

Are you using a laptop by chance? Not all levels have the same amount of textures and other things. Try improving ventilation or lowering your resolutions and turning off some the the details. You can also use nTune or similar program (RivaTuner?) to monitor your card temps.

I haven't played this area, but they're not dust motes, are they?

I have an underpowered card--a 7600gt--agp--which I push to get in the mid twenties fps on medium. I dont wanna spend too much on this aging system as my new system is due maybe in march, depending on the $$$ issues.

I use riva tuner to oc and have also gotten what I see as snow flakes all around. These are the "artifacts" the oc posts warn of when pushing your card too much. I turned down my oc a coupla notches and pushed the fan up to 60% and all is well--no more floating spots or snow.

Ok,,,Im running 2 gforce 8800gtx in SLI my temps are as follows: cpu=30c system=40c and both vid cards around 69c I only see the specs well in frolic, however I do see them else where if there is some kind of fog going around. Is this just what ya call dust motes that are intended to be there?

Without actually seeing some screenshots, Fort Frolic *does* have lot's of dust-motes in it - it's part of the atmosphere ;)
