If you changed the games install location, than simply running the patch from any file location can be a big hastle. (It may take an hour or more to find the game depending on the size of your hard drives.)
The key to getting over this is to place the EXE in the BioShock/Builds/Release folder. The patch appears to check the default windows location followed by the folder the EXE is in, THEN the rest of the system. So if you are having problems with it not finding the game, try moving the EXE there.

Been having endless problems with this patch, been trying to install the thing for ages now and received endless errors telling me "RTPatch has encountered a problem" etc etc. Your solution seems to have absolutely nailed that. Genius. Haven't tried running the game yet, but as of now you are some kind of god. My sincerest of thanks.

I don't have a problem running the patch installer, but it doesn't do anything. When I start the game it's still at V1.0 . I've tried installing from the program directory as suggested but that made no difference. As far as I can tell all it's actually doing is putting some readmes in the base install directory. Can anyone help me?
I'm running on XP SP2 and I'm wondering if the problem is that I have installed the game in a different drive to where XP is installed (I didn't have room). Other than that it's a very new, clean XP install. I bought the UK boxed retail version.
