Flop?

So this game will be available to console owners? Does anyone else think this game probably wont make it like so many other strategy games that were brought to console?

I think it'll do alright. But Civilization series definitely has it's fan base on the PC, so I'm surprised they are not releasing it for the PC as well.

But I have some friends that are console junkies that are really looking forward to this game and haven't played the PC versions.

Also because it's mostly turn-based game it won't suffer the problems that other RTS games have when brought over to console.

One thing I think this game could have done extremely well is cross platform play, between 360 and Vista. I'm surprised they aren't going in that direction.

i know my opinion will always be biased, since i'm the community manager for the game... but i have to say that i've been playing Civ since 6th grade, and i play a test version of Civ Revolution every day on my 360 dev kit and i have yet to get tired of it.

I'm sure 2K could just patch that into CivIV if they felt it was worth their time.

I was worried about the popularity of a Turn-Based Strategy on Consoles as well. The pace is just to slow for the action loving console crowd, but Sid and the Team at Fixirazis and 2k have done an amazing job. I have got friends normally addicted to games like COD4 to play this and actually enjoy it. It probaly seems alien to most of Civilaztions's usual fan base, but it Caters to the crowd they wanted. THis game very well could be the first truly successful strategy game for the 360 and PS3.

The movies of CivRev over at GameTrailers are 8.6-9 all the time. Shouldnt be totally trustable but still its an indication that people like what they see. And I would also give it a 9 but I dont participate in those votes.
