Like Bioshock, Fable is a game about choices, too.

How did you like the newly announced features from GDC for Fable 2? I mean things like a female hero, who could become pregnant, the dog feature or that you can nearly buy any building in the game world?

I liked fable, but I was pretty miffed at all of the features that got cut. Who knows how this one will turn out, but it sounds promising, I just wish they wouldn't have spoiled some of the dog aspect (i.e he'll probably die).

Still though, hope this time they don't bite off more then they can chew again, :D, ha ha.

I don't like it. I just played it once and it felt like every other RPG. I was really disappointed because I liked the concept of Project Ego very much back then.

Hope Peter does it right with Fable2 and Dimitri. Sadly, my most wanted game by Lionhead, Unity, was cancelled. :(

I think (and I'm sure most people agree) that the original Fable should've been much, much better than it was.

I also think (because I'm what's commonly known as A Person Who Thinks...) that Fable 2 is shaping up to be what Fable 1 would've been if it hadn't suffered such a butchering in the first place.

The whole Dog idea though... That sounds kinda risky in my opinion. No user interface what-so-ever? Just a Dog?

A Dog?!

Are they smoking banana skins over at Lionhead?

And then, after some more thinking, I realised this: Being pregnant is, perhaps, a bit of a hindrance when tasked with saving the world (or what ever needs saving this time round). I mean, just bending down to pick stuff up is difficult in the later stages - what with a cuppla killos of extra person living inside your body.

Killing nasties and vagrants with a sword? Well that's fairly more difficult than retrieving a dropped pencil.

I guess only Lionhead know how they are gonna make being pregnant an entertaining feature that feels like it's actually worth doing. Providing they're not sat around getting wasted and have already forgotten.

Because of the fact that the dog is your map for the game, I think its problematic. I can imagine how he leads you the way to a point of interest, which is important for your actual quest. But what about other destinations, where you have been before, towns, dungeons etc.? How do you make your dog lead to this spots?

Just checked out some more vids of the dog feature, could be pretty good if it turned out alright, I know I was feeling for him when he was limping.

Unfortunately, I lost all faith in Fable. I was under the impression that it was going to be like Morrowind, but way better. Frankly, I'll take Morrowind any day. Granted, it was fun for a minute, but I'll remain a skeptic.

Even though it delivered a lot less than was anticipated I absolutely loved Fable.

As for Fable 2— If I buy a 360, ultimately, it'll probably be for the dog. :o

Also— I love the idea of the dog leading me through the quest. I hate wandering around a game not knowing what the hell I'm supposed to be doing, or where I'm supposed to be going.

Fable 2 might not be everything we expect of it, but I think we're lucky to have a Peter Molyneux and Lionhead Studios, basically because of the variety and innovation they bring to gaming.

We need more auteurs in the gaming industry, just to keep things fresh and interesting, and to push the boundaries: Peter Molyneux, Ken Lavine, Hideo Kojima...

slightly OT, but:
the xbox360 premium price will drop from 399€ to 299€ soon. I'll pick one up in summer.

The dog worries me. It seems to me more like something that will get in the way than enhance gameplay, but I should keep my mouth shut until I've played the game. Is there an estimated release date yet?

After checking out the videos on Gametrailers, I'm officially interested in Fable 2. Memories of Nethack come flooding back. I'm looking forward to seeing how they solve the HUD issue via the dog, and I trust Molyneux to have some interesting ideas as far as that is concerned.

Is there an estimated release date yet?I'm curbing my expectations. For me, with Fable, it is what it is. I'm not expecting it to blow my socks off, but I'm intensely interested in seeing what Lionhead are doing. The dog looks absolutely brilliant, and I'm really looking forward to it as a feature (I don't like having to work too hard to enjoy my games (unless they're specifically puzzle games) and basically used to wish there was an arrow at the top of the screen that I could follow when playing Ocarina of time, basically because it was a good enough, and had enough great content to have got away with doing that).

All that being said, I absolutely love Fable (probably because I wasn't expecting it to give me the moon (as I was with Black & White)) and am hoping I'm going to love Fable 2 just as much. I already love the dog.
