Well, exactly as the title says...I've tried installing 3+ times, but it just sticks at the point where it says "Downloading latest Bioshock update". Stays at 0% doesn't do anything for a good 15+ minutes, I have to shutdown the installer via task manager or cold reboot. Apparently there is a disc check or some kind of serial check after this point, but I never even get to that point. Is there a way I can skip downloading the patch and just verify my game? After rebooting, the game seems to be half installed at this point, and obviously won't run.
I've shut down Zonealarm (my firewall and anti-virus), and in fact Zonealarm is the only thing I run besides windows services. I guess my next step is to install in safe mode, although I see this being problematic. Any idea's? I hear the games great :(

What internet browser are you using? Are you getting any kind of error message?

If you're using a different PC, you'd need to make sure the one you are using to install the game, has internet. (I'm sure you probably already know this, and I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or anything, but some people don't know that)

Internet Browser? I'm referring to the point in the game where it prompts you to auto update...

If the firewall is causing the problem, shutting it down isn't helping it. I had ZoneAlarm too. You will have to go to programs and allow BioShock. That firewall caused me lots of problems with programs too. Had to get rid of it.

How will shutting it down not help? If Zonealarm is not running, then it is not filtering anything....right?

(Just tried it in safe mode with networking as well, no beans)

Because its not as simple as that. I've had ZoneAlarm, and I know because i've had this same issue with it. When I uninstalled it, the programs worked fine. I've heard numerous people who have had this problem and it ceased to be a problem once removing ZoneAlarm.
Then again, I had the free version so I didn't care about abandoning it. The virus scanner comes with the one you pay for, right? Well, work on tweaking the settings as opposed to turning it off. I'm not saying that the firewall is your problem, but things that it is causing problems with are not resolved with turning it off.
