-LARGE SPOILERS THROUGHOUGHT THE THREAD-

First time posting everyone! i hope you like what I have to say

Sequel Ideas: I had about three distinct ideas (just incase no one else thought to outline a script)

idea 1:
Andrew Ryan, having been resurrected in a vita chamber shortley after his death, wallows for a while, until Fontain dies and then continues his campaign to salvage rapture. playing ryan, you must convince the popuants around you to join your struggle against the more insane splicers. you must give them reasons to stay loyal to you, wether its making them more sane (music, anit-plasmids, smokes or alchohol) or suplying them with cosmetic//sanity plasmids. with your band of splicers, you slowley overtake regions of rapture, which you can eventually restore and succede in your goal. the game finishes when all the terretories are captured

idea 2:
Andrew Ryan, having been resurrected in a vita chamber shortley after his death, wallows for a while, until Fontain dies. he then converts a great eal of splcers to his sde with a batch of pheremones and assembles them into teams, who can either fight or build. the game would be a sort of age of empires twist, with a set amount of space to conqer and build upon. the enemy would be really insane people and fontains folowers.

idea 3:
An online rpg. You play a fuly customisable resident of rapture, who with your band of other players, has to initially collect adam to regain your sanity and appearance, then fight through evil splicers to escape out of rapture with the only remaining submarine. players would have to pick a class, such as trapper, leadhead, paparazzi (invisibility, hacking and sneaking) swimmer (gills and underwater exploration) and close range riffraff exterminator (with a pipe or something)

waht does everyone think?

I would so love a BioShock MMO, but that really isn't Irrationals style.

You might/should have put *spoilers* in the title in case someone reads this and hasn't finished the game, but then again most people here have finished it.

Imagine an FPS/MMO/RGP/RACING/PLATFORM/TPS/RTS/BORDGAME

Fix't :p
But then again... I spelled "bord" wrong.

In any case, how are we supposed to discuss sequel ideas without spoilers?

I would play a game like that, but it wouldn't be popular on a mass scale.

I'm with you up to here... At this point, i'd be suggesting some kind of war with this Demitasse that is mentioned in the game.
idea 3:

No.

RPG? Good. Online? Bad.

I think a constant war would work, with several, regional squads trying to take over Rapture, like a NorthEast America rapture(no different, just I don't think you could put all the people who would play it on ONE rapture)
I mean like Endwar, where it is an ongoing war, so for example me and 5 other dudes are going online for an how and we get assigned by an Irrational Exec. to cover this hallway Hub(the Execs. could compete as Generals).
We suit up for the job and make this Hallway Hub impenetrable, except it isn't, because we are no better tan our opponents, the war goes on...
It would be So much fun, every body could be a sort of Pre-Splicer Human, powered up but not quite cat-faced.
I think the Plasmids would not ruin such a game, the people coming in would have their own Plasmids for getting in, like a target dummy that copies you from a foot or so away, so you place him and walk, he walks in the same direction, but ahead of you, setting of traps as he goes, you must counter this, and the war goes on.
If one side got too big, they could move people around.

im sorry to dissapoint you... but ryan is dead... he was NOT ressuructed in a vita chamber after you kild him cause that would have no point. the VC in his office is deactivated and VCs have ranges so i really doubt he came back anywhere else. besides in my opinion it would totally suck if ryan came back to life just for a sequel. he had a nice life and a dramatic death and thats enough. if there would be a bioshock sequel that follows the bioshock storyline i will of course buy it but i think it would really suck. rapture IS huge and there is a great potential for farther exploring it but i just dont think that the storyline would be any better. jack died and had a nice life (good ending :P) so he wont come back to rapture... if in the sequel there will be another guy coming down to rapture itll be nice but not as amazing, suprising, thrilling and horrofying as the original bioshock... this is one of the games that just wont make good sequels... its just one of a kind.

False.

At what point does his Vita-Chamber become deactivated? After giving his seasons speech? No, because I tested it.

So, the Vita-Chamber works, which is established, and yet Ryan would not resuscitate? I think it could very well be justified for him to be back, and a great game being made from this mindset.

the VC is deactivated in ryans office. if you approach it it shows "deactivated vita-chamber" and you can activate it be pressing E. did you try to die in ryan's office without activating it? if it was ctivated... then why wasnt ryan ressuructed there shortly after you kill him?

I didn't see that... On the contrary, I incinerated myself, and was revived.
did you try to die in ryan's office without activating it?
It was never deactivated.
if it was ctivated... then why wasnt ryan ressuructed there shortly after you kill him?
Because his body is still on the floor? No, thats not convincing enough for me in light of the audio diary on the Vita-Chamber.

check it... it says the vita chamber is deactivated. if you died and where ressed in the VC that means it was probably auto-activated because of gameplay issues (if it werent and you were killed by the bots would you just die?). if when you die your body doesnt just stay on the floor for some time and only then transformed to the VC neither should ryan's. i didnt say he might not come back for a sequel but i think that if he did, they would make his survival reason less obvious then just get it to be ressuructed normaly in the VC. +i dont think they would put a deactivated vita-chamber in his office for no reason but to clearly say he is dead for sure

I just discovered this other Vita-Chamber, and as I posted in another thread, found that I was sent to this deactivated Vita-Chamber when I died around the security bots.

Wants and plans to are usually the same when it comes to making money on a franchise.

Maybe, maybe it is the idea of 1 guy in a company of non-sequel wishers(tm)
I am not saying no, just that this should be taken with some care, maybe they are making a sequel maybe not, just don't ASSUME, you know what they say about that, right?
