Hey guys (and girls!)!
How about a multiplayer in the new patch? One team could be Big daddies and the other team could be just plain old people who have ventured down into rapture. Maby there could be an attack and defend situation where the big daddies have to ender the people base and destroy, oh i dont know, say an electricity generator, or amunition and gun crates, and the people have to defent for 15 minutes and they can build (destructable) walls using telekanesis?

Say, man there are like so many other multiplayer threads. Why didn't you just add your thoughts on the other threads. Mulitplayer is never going to happen.

Oh yeah cos all of the problems that would crop up from implementing multiplayer and doing it properly could be issued in some lazy ass patch (hint 2k are not the best in the world for support we are still waiting for them to 'fix' the single player!).
This would require a ton of work (player models, new levels etc) they've already made a fortune from the game and unlike some customer centric game developers they don't seem to give a ☺☺☺☺ about whether we are happy or not so I suggest you not get your hopes up for a mere 'patch' to add 'multiplayer' (very broad a term) any time soon.
Anyway, multiplayer would suck due to inherent flaws in the game as it stands now, from poor player control (one speed, mouse lag/acceleration, weak/flat weapons with no punch) to heavily scripted and non flexible scenarios and weak AI (needing new multiplayer 'arena's, negating co-op play).
Personally I would rather play a game with Multiplayer as the focus or implemented from the start rather than tacked on (unless it's core game could easily managed the 'switch' but I can't see Bioshock managing that even though the UE3 engine can easily).
