i would like to start a thread to suggest what would be better in the 1.1 version when it is released.

-tab as inventory would be nice.. how many things have i invented only to watch them drop on the floor
-i use nvidias 7950 and i see the shadows of characters on the floor above me, on the ceiling. hope its a simple fix.
-vita chambers arent believable to me.
-the camera shouldn't need to be used so much to get the autohack bonus, i thought it was tedious. and i'm a photographer in real life.
-the corners. i Loved the design of the environment, top notch, but can you please add a little fix so that the Slightest little texture on a corner will not impede your ability to duck around that corner if you're hugging the wall? know what im saying? in other words, when i get stuck and i have to shoot it out point blank, only to turn around to find that i couldnt move because of a little right angle in the environment, like a 2 inch protrusion on a pillar or the detail on a railing, im taken out of the game. mentally speaking.

bout it for now

How about we worry about the frills until after the tech forums die down? Or at least suggest this for patch #2.

would you kindly fix the subtitles so the timing is better?

and yeah five installs per computer is fully ☺☺☺☺ty. i will delete this game from my hard drive at some point, right, and i had to install it twice already? c'mon thats jive corporate turkey. i paid you full price and i might have to download a crack just to play your game? thank the dark gods of irony for crackers.

but i digress.

also, a fiendishly hard mode... in a place that just saw a civil war and is populated entirely by armed psychopaths, there sure is a lot of ammo laying around.

FRAPS works flawlessly on my pc with Bioshock. Elaborate on what you mean by it's difficult to make it show up and maybe we can help.

I think everyone who doesn't suck agrees Bioshock for PC is too easy.

I'd like an insane difficulty.

Bioshock is indeed easy. Hard feels like Medium and there is no really challenging difficulty but I guess you can blame the Vita-Chambers for that.

Bioshock is a casual game all the way through, its still enjoyable though. Had it been a PC exclusive, it would probably been an instant GOTY.

yeah compared to ss2 it is dumbed down for console tards. no offense if any of you console users are actually retarded. its a reference to the nopunctuation review that i found hilarious.

anyway, for all people ☺☺☺☺☺ around here about how ☺☺☺☺ sucks and 2k is lame and bioshock is turdish, theres alarmingly little solution-oriented input here. wtf... like i said its easy to be a critic and hard to be an artist. whatever... nothing new.

anyway, the reason i posted: i would like to see some of the balance issues that brazuca was trying to address addressed by 2k as well, for example, i personally thought that bees takes a lot of eve but doesnt do a whole lot of damage, and that cyclone fit that bill as well. i realize the strategic advantage they give, but it was just a thought i had during gameplay. winterblast's only use is for hacking, but loot loss would be increasingly irrelevant in a world where first aid kits, eve, and ammo aren't just lying around everywhere. on my second playthrough i can't tell you how many times i had full inventory and full wallet. spiritual succession from ss2 would entail a greater difficulty level. hard was challenging, but i am a casual gamer and hard level usually owns me ruthlessly. in this game, hard level was like playing a real game, so i KNOW there are hardcore gamers with valid gripes about difficulty and balance. i thought it was probably meant to be fun, the way you have it set up now... maybe you underestimated the skill level of the masses. people Liked ss2 Because it was challenging, not in spite of it. bioshock has a good plot, but maybe you didnt feel like it could pull a player along through the challenges and frustration??? but now im rambling.

in short, a more believable rapture would really rock. especially the vita-chambers, although i posted a lot of my criticism about them before i found the diaries about them which explained some of the answers to my questions. hmmm. still need some sort of activation or interaction, and why is the one in ryan's office the only one thats DEactivated? :) damn rambling again!

Vita Chambers: They could make it so that you have to pay to use a vita chamber. A good amount, maybe $50. If you didn't have enough money. You'd get a game over, and have to load up a save.

New Game Plus: Once you beat the game, you should have the option to restart with the things you have gotten throughout the game. You would start out with nothing, just like normal, except with your max health, max eve, and plasmid/tonic slots that you had when you finished. When you get to the first gene bank all of your tonics and plasmids that you had would already be in it, free to take out and use. I'm not sure how they could do it with the weapons, maybe you would just find them all, sitting around somewhere, with the upgrades that you had. All the Gatherers Gardens would only have the products you hadn't bought the first time through, and the plasmids and tonics that you found, would be removed from the game world.

Also, removal of securom/activation/DVD check would be nice, some way to check your research progress and something to make it so that hacking had a consequence, even if you succeed.

- Fix the High-Detail Shaders. Pretty please.

- Give us an option to view currently installed and stored tonics outside of genetic bank.

- Give me antialiasing or give me death.

Hey I wouldnt say its "easy" - on hard mode i'm dying plenty - and for the longest time I refused to revive in a biochamber, but now I'm sick of the reloads, so im moving much faster just reviving.

Are you seriously playing on hard mode and NOT dying? Or do the biochambers just make it "seem" easy.

genius on the cost to use a vita-chamber!

And yes, get rid of the damn cd-check.

Stick to one time online activation - no need to check the cd after that.

I just finished my first run through of the game last night and I have had zero technical problems. Sorry but it's the truth -> 0 problems.

There are things I would like added: Run/Walk toggle, Mouse acceleration corrected, AA and AF menu support and the same content as XBox version. But as far as glitches and hitches go I have had none. Alt + Tab works fine too (although I first press esc to pull up the in game menu and then Alt+Tab), Fraps works also -- including movie and screen capture. Overall the game has been well made. So why are the tech forums inundated with problems? I have a few thoughts on this:

1) User error
2) Hardware errors
3) DVD manufacturing errors : And this is where I believe that most of the problems lay i.e. with the production of the game DVDs and not the game itself.

That's my two pence worth.

I bought bioshock two days ago, and from hearing people say how easy it is i started on hard, and i reload each time i get killed, since it pretty much takes as much as getting revived, as sec :P
The first bouncer i got killed the most, found now way to kill it, untill i made it into getting it stuck in a door, atlist i damaged it halfway by myself before it D:

the first rosie was much better, also died a few times, but it was worth it, i hacked the two gunners below, one got destroyed, shot it from close with with electric shotgun while in the pool there, and ran up to a higher ground then a spilcer that throws nades came and i did that tk catch throw catch throw, however it was cool, fun and well worth it :P

Ric- familiar with the spilnter cell double agent syndrome ? or Dark messiah ?
no ? 40% or more including gamespot had impossible bugs on it, some people had zero problems, other had so much it was unplayble, its badly optimazed, not users computer or whatever fault, for example, CS:S HL2 etc.. had no problems at any computer from what I recall, because it was well programmed.

As u may have noticed as well, the forum with the highest views is the tech one, points into how many people having problems, Soon it may also pass the amount of threads the general disscusion has, and this was well before the game was out.

No, I never heard about that with those games. It's interesting what you say about HL2 as that game was (clearly) extremely well implemented -- I could run that game with all settings maxed out on an Athlon 3200+ and 6800XT graphics card smooth as silk and it never had my temps above 45 Celsius.

Maybe you're right? The issues are so varied that poor optimisation could account for that level of diversity. We all know that it was pretty much optimised for the XBox only, and that it tends to be high end systems that have the least hassle so perhaps there is something in what you say? But there are also threads from 8800, dual core and quad owners too so a mystery is there somewhere. I had problems with the high end shader with the demo and on my 6800XT system but by the full game had none once I'd installed my drivers correctly -- mind you that was all irrelevant because I built a new high end system and only play it on that now.

I still think that some of these problems are user errors; it would be nice to see how many made a complaint in the tech forum but then went on to solve their issue. I know I was one such individual. Lastly, I wouldn't hold your breath for a patch on the PC as it looks as though the XBox is the only version with a maintenance budget.

Yeah, I can easily pop in and out of the game (ALT+TAB) with or without FRAPS running.
