Dont ask why im asking you this on such an early bases, But On your first playthrough of Bioshock, What will You do when you first run into a Big Daddy?
The first thing I am going to do when I see one is start to beat it up with a wrench like that idiot on the X06 trailer and realize its not working.....Then I will runaway like a little girl...(Jk:p) Nah I'll just watch it and follow it about alittle to see what it gets up to;)

I'll keep my distance and observe his movements, then get a little closer and see how he reacts to me.
I might then try and make contact: "I come in peace..." :p ;)

Like Hatesink, I will play with a lowered gun, keep my distance and question everything, basically how I would act if I was in this situation IRL. First playthrough for games is usually stealthy and non-violent as much as possible, at least until I gain an understanding of my surroundings, my objectives, and how I can use other characters for my purposes.

Yes, you put that much more elequently than my, "Me Too!" statements. That's exactly what I plan on doing. Take my time and learn as much as possible and try to figure things out as I go along. Hopefully with out running into something nasty. Oh, and try to stock up on as many bullets and plasmids as I can! I'm not sure how stealthy will be able to be, but I hope to avoid as much as possible in the beginning. Heck, I know I'm going to stare out the windows at the fish too. :)

Since (according to the wikipedia BioShock entry) there'll be reason to be weary by the time I reach Rapture, I'll be advancing very slowly, sticking to the shadows, trying to collect whatever resources are apparent and generally investigating and exploring the environment until I first spot someone. Then retreat, hide, observe, get a little closer, follow...
If I bang on the glass with my wrench will the fish swim away?

If I bang on the glass with my wrench will the fish swim away?
can't imagine that... i think the glass will be far to thick to let pass any pulse/sounds.

do you think they will swim away if you bang on it with a rocket launcher? I wonder if you can break the glass, although if you did it would probably result in death
depends on the weapons I have...

I'm going to save the game, then hit him with my wrench. Cause sometimes, I like to see how bad it can get.

I was just thinking that if I stumbled upon a cadaver and a Big Daddy/Little Sister were on the way, I'd stand motionless next to the cadaver and see if the Little Sister had the 'nads to step up, or if the Big Daddy would try to shoo me off.

I will just be interested in observing, or even helping them at first, as I plan to take the least non-violent path through the game on my first play-through.
Then when I'm bored of that I'm sure I'll take a leaf out of Aleph's book and force a reload. Then proceed as though nothing ever happened. :p

I'm going to invite it to a hotel room, since my girlfriend keeps asking how "big" he is. Once I show him a picture, he'll forget all about the little sista...

*like all fascinated players, I'll stare and stare and stare and stare and.....

When I first see it, I'll probly be all scared from enamys before this and I will shot it by reflexes, and then I'll die. I'll have to re-load the game and not shoot it this time!

Hmm. Seeing a Big Daddy for the first time...
I would probably advance slowly, muster up the courage, and ask him if he's seeing anyone. If not, the courting begins.

You contradicted yourself, since all sound is, is a series of compressions and decompressions in matter, which is why a REALISTIC space battle is absolutely quiet outside of the ship. But back on track, the knocking on the glass would send a soundwave through it MUCH faster than through air and then the soundwave would continue to travel through the water, still faster than through air, so yeah it would be LOUD!!!!!!!!!!

Just watch it run around, then invite it to afternoon tea. We'll discuss politics and the Iraq war plans. :D

I can’t speak on the first time I encounter one, but pretty early on in the game I am going to set him on fire like we witnessed in the latest video, and see just how much damage that does. If he burns until he eventually dies, then that is certainly going to be the best way to take him out. But if the fire burns out after a while, then I will have learned some valuable intel.
Seeing how faulty a shot he was (again, reference to the latest movie) sending security turrets after him is a really great idea.
Whatever the case, it is obvious that killing one of these guys is a long and drawn out process regardless of the method. This pleases me.
Oh, and yes, I will definitely try and sneak up behind one and hit him with a wrench too. I won't be able to help myself.
