Is there any chance BioShock could be released a week or two earlier?

If a game is released early its something to be weary of. Even an extra week or two is enough time for more testing and bug fixing. I wouldn't want the game to release early.

True, but I'm still dissapointed that the game didn't come out in Spring as predicted to. At least it's not as bad as Assassin's Creed, which was delayed 7 months. Anyway, I haven't heard any news that BioShock currently has any framerate problems, bugs, or glitches. They could probably pull off releasing the game a bit earlier without any negative consequinces.

You almost never hear about these issues until after release, especially if they are in parts of the game that havn't been shown in previews or that publications havn't been able to play. Developers don't go and say "Hey, we're having these issues with the game right now". Thats not something the general public needs to hear about.

I hear about games that are in progress and that have major problems all the time. The companies themselves won't tell you, but they tell other gaming companies, such as 1UP, and the public is told by them. They don't miss a thing.

Lol, im with the topic creator. My school usually starts back on the 26th of August, but its starting back on the 20th. I wish i had more time to play it, especially when i have biology, chemistry, geometry, etc.

Some games do get released a few days earlier on occasion.I remember years ago anticipating the release of Silent Hill 2,and it came out early, ironically,I felt dissapointed,as I'd been looking forward to my big day!....how weird is that!;)

The wait and anticipation is half the fun.

I feel like I've waited too long...

i have to say that its good they are sticking to this date. it means they are confident they can have most (if not all) the bugs ironed out by that time. having a release date set in stone is better than having it released a couple of weeks earlier, because we can plan ahead for a specific day.
