my multiplayer idea

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

befor i get flamed i kno there is no multiplayer but this is just an idea.
Its two teams facing off obvously, red vs blue.
You could any of the simple ememies bigdaddy, splicer, pyro, ect. except the little sister. There can only be a set number of characters allowed.

The little sisters would npc and the point would be to collect the most adam. The only way to get adam is to kill the other team and take it from their bodies, bodies would dissappear after a certain time period. The quicker the little sisters get the the dead bodies the more adam you get. You would be able to kill the little sisters so the big daddies would be forced to protect them. There would be like 3 or so little sisters on each team and when they died they would respawn maybe 45 secs later giving the other team an advantage.

The teams would be red vs blue.
The big daddies eyes would be red or blue, the splicers dresses would be red or blue. Stuff like that.

The big daddies would be easier to kill in mp.

There can also possibly be like a checkpoint which has turrent control so the teams would also have to fight it out for the turrent control.

What do you guys think?

It's not bad, for maybe a small multiplayer game-type. But with something like Bioshock, if multiplayer was done it would have to be extremely expansive, not feel like a glorified, underwater version of Halo.

I wish it had co-op. Anyway, when Ken Levine was asked about multiplayer in the game, he responded with "BioShock 2."

My multiplayer would have been more along the lines of singleplayer coinciding, meaning, if you get farther in the game and gain new abilities/power-ups and what not, you can use those in the multiplayer. That way, your game progress actually matters to the online world.

It would be better without the npc... (that is just my opinion)

you have a partner on your team which plays as a little sister (uses a minor weapon like a revolver or something...) and you are a Big Daddy... you switch off each round?

This is a pretty good idea; the Little Sister should either be a player or an npc.

The best part is getting Adam from the other team's bodies is it would discourage camping, but it might make the splicer team be too tentative.

i say theres no point in MP as long as the likes of Halo and Unreal Tournament 3 are around.

doesn't seem like a game to really have one team vs. another team. It would have to be far more innovative. Maybe even an online community like "Home." There should be a part of Rapture where the survivors manage to live together in a community and be able to communicate with them. And when you're ready, you could take another fellow Rapturian out of the safe haven area and play co-op. Even so, the story line would have to be altered.

if they did something like this, they should model it on the gameplay from dystopia. that has some of the same aspects, class-wise. you have hackers, which are small, quick, low on health, have weaker guns, but have lots of slots for cybernetic upgrades. then theres the medium guys with more health better guns, but less cybernetic slots and slower. Then theres the heavy class with 2 (i think) cybernetic slots, tons of health and powerful guns, but are the slowest.
so the big daddy class could have heaps of health but balanced out in other ways.

Id prefer say a four-eight man team dynamic where you co-operated in a largish area to escape, say a mini campaign over 3 maps.

However at the end of the three only a limited number of people can survive so it creates an interesting dynamic.

And of course you want to have the possibilty of you all losing if you dont worl togrther in the earlier phases.

just remember THIS IS NOT AN RPG... just has some elements of it...

I say no multiplayer. It would be frustrating because they'd have to remove all plasmids/tonics, all your weapon mods and all your progress to make thing fair. Then they'd have to put you into a stage and have to fight the other team with what I figure will be a very limited array of weapon since you won't have your mods.

There are game multiplayer fits to, on both PC and 360, just play those, let BioShock be single player.

Sounds great I wish they could add it.

Yeah, I like it. A class based system would be perfect for a game like this.

Think Shadowrun: Big Dadies=Trolls: Slow but powerful.

Little Sisters=Elves: Fast, weak, but could regenerate health.
Splicers=Humans: Good all around.

That would be really cool, I would love to play that!
