View Full Version : Is this my last chance to go back? (Spoilers)
I've just become a Big Daddy, and I went back to the Bathysphere, because I want to be able to explore the game after I'm finished, for fun.
Is this the last chance I have to actually go back? I was worried becoming a Big Daddy would stop my chances, but of all the luck, I can go back!
I need one or two more achievements such as the Historian one and also Inventing. Out of sheer luck, I collected 53 Tonics. I have no idea how I managed it, but I got that. So I decided I may as well get the others.
I can definitely still go back now, can't I? If so, I'll make a save, and keep it seperate from the others.
Thanks to anyone who can help with this!
Oh, and one last question - I've heard you have to protect Little Sisters in the end. If one dies, do you have to start the entire section again?

you will actually be told by the lady when you are at the point of no return... it is the elevator to fontaine's office btw.

You can retreat from any point up until you hit that elevator button and start going up.

no,u have to give her some bowchickabowow so she will give u a syringe
Ah, so when I'm done in the final area (escorting >__< I hate it!), I'll still be able to go back. But as soon as I go down this elevator, that's it?
Good to know. Thanks!

Yep, pretty much.
also, Splicers no longer directally Aggro you.
What do you mean? Do you mean that now, when I go back to previous areas, Splicers won't attack me straight away? Or that they won't attack at all?
Or were you talking about the escorting part?
Sorry, I'm just a bit confused! It'd be nice if I didn't get attacked as often.

It means, since your a BD, none of the splicers will attack you unless you attack them

security cameras and turrets are peaceful as well

Wow I didn't know that, about the splicer aggro, I noticed the turrets being fine with me though. That's more incentive to go back and play, putting up with the restricted view and the CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK. Still don't understand why they felt messing with your view was more immersive than putting gloves or something over your hands and sweater-ed arms.
OT, but props for the Okami and E7 avatars. Good, good things.
That is pretty cool. I went back and messed around a bit before, and got a pretty large smile on my face when I noticed nothing attacked me. That'll make finding those Audio things easier.
Unruhe - I have to agree with you on those points. I'm not too happy with the view you have now, and I also don't really like the sound the boots makes. Fortunately, I have a save at the start of the section you get the Big Daddy outfit. So I can always go back to that and mess around. Sadly, I never thought to go through, Save the Little Sisters, get my rewards and all the Tonics, then save before getting the outfit.
Oh well! Not a big problem. : D It's not as though there's anything worth getting at that point. At least, nothing great in my opinion. :)

They never explain in the ending how they fixed you up from the vocal chord brutalizing they do to you that Fontaine says isn't fixable...

I tried going back at one point but found certain routes were blocked or certain bulkheads would not load. Do you have to take specific routes back to certain places?

Just use the Batheyspheres to get access to any of the areas you want to get to.

I've had no problems, actually. The only place I can't go back to is the very first area of the game, where it all starts. So far, every place I've wanted to go back to I've been able to get into.
What places were you trying to go to?

I can't remember exactly now,I just remember certain bulkheads would not load.
It was like only certain parts of a level were accessible.

I wish there were some underwater parts of the game, which would be inaccessible until you get your *working* BD suit.

I hated becoming a big daddy. I have 19" screen and now I have even smaller view, god damn it sucks.

That is weird. If you remember which ones they were, I'll try them out myself and see what happens. So far, everything has worked for me, like I mentioned.
Vagula - I can imagine that is worse! I have a 40", and although the view isn't that small, it's not as enjoyable to explore. I know it's meant to be a little more immersive (is that right?), but they could have at least zoomed it in all the way, giving back the view.
Like Unruhe said, there should have been gloves instead. That way you get the feeling of a suit, without the altered view.
Shame you can't head up to Fontaine, but go back again. But then you'd lose the suit. So either way, you can't really win.
