question about enemies

the only enemies I saw shooting, were these security bots
wont there be splicers with shotguns, tommy guns and others?
I dont know whether I remember it right or do they only have melee weapons... that would be easy to kill them, just running backwards and shooting them I know that 1 sort of splicers have this hooks and they throw it, but its not the same as some sort of pistols

Yep they have guns,plus they can pick up stuff from the enviroment and use it against you.Dont forget they also use plasmids too!;)
