[2K Elizabeth]

You may have noticed by now that there are two new names around the forums - 2K Greg and 2K David. I'd like to take this time right now to formally introduce them to the community: Greg and David are our new 2K Community Managers, and will be regular fixtures around these parts from here on out.

While all three of us will be working on all 2K titles, you'll see Greg mainly in the Civilization area and David in the Spec Ops: The Line forums. Of course, as always, I'll still be around as well for anything you guys need.

I'm very excited that our community is growing and the new stuff we're going to be rolling out for you soon - I'll also be making welcome posts in the Civilization and Spec Ops: The Line forums and I hope you to swing by and say hi!

Welcome to the 2K Forums! Our mission is to bring as many people together as possible to talk about all things 2K and gaming related. Naturally, we want old users to feel comfortable in the community they've helped to create. However, certain behavior can discourage new users from participating. The guidelines have been designed to discourage those behaviors. Guidelines enable new users to acclimate to the tone of the community without feeling intimidated. They also ensure that existing users can continue to enjoy a healthy community. Our intention is to encourage a variety of viewpoints to interact with each other intelligently and respectfully. Posts contrary to that goal will be edited or deleted by moderation staff. Posters who cannot follow these rules will be banned.

Please read all rules before posting, and then, enjoy!

1. Please keep proper decorum in the forums. Refrain from cursing, harassing other members, and insulting other members. Doing so will result in a warning, then a temporary ban, then a permanent ban.

2. Do not post spoilers unless clearly stated, and in proper threads.

3. Don't post obvious troll threads, or start flame wars. We all love games, and we all have strong opinions. Please remember that, and respect each other.

4. Don't spam forums, or make lots of threads about information that has already been created. Also, don't do anything that clearly detracts from the community: I.E. posting in a bright colored font, all caps, etc.

5. If you are asked by a moderator or myself to stop doing something, please do it, or else you will get banned.

6. Do not make multiple accounts. If you do, all accounts will get banned, and you will be permanently banned.

7. Don't talk about illegal stuff. Pirating music, games, etc. will not be tolerated. This includes discussions about the topics, too. Please don't have them there.

8. Use spoiler tags appropriately. Spoiling things that are NOT spoilers will get you banned. Not spoiling things you should spoil will also get you banned.

9. This is a family-friendly forum. This means that user names and avatars should be PG-13. Names and avatars in violation will be subject to removal/banning.

10. Do not post about torrents, or torrent sites.

11. Do not post unofficial links or scans. If you see an article or video, please link to the original source. Unofficial stuff will get you banned.

12. Backseat moderation will not be tolerated. If you are not a mod, don't try and be one.

13. Respect the moderators and administrators of this site. Insults and degrading comments will be met with a week ban. Repeat offenders will be perma-banned.

14. Please do not talk about or post your warnings and bans. This doesn't add to community conversation. Keep it to yourself, and try and be a better poster next time.

15. Please don't spam, or post ads. Do not advertise anything on this site, on the forums or in private messages.

16. Bumping old threads because you have something to say that will bring something new to the topic is all right, however, a thread that has not been touched in 2 weeks is generally considered "dead" and there will be warnings and bans for those who bump threads up to the top for no reason at all.

17. Please be courteous and don't hijack threads. Try and stay within the original topic. If you have something different you want to talk about, start a new thread. Posters determined to be hijacking threads will be dealt with by the mods and posts either deleted or split into new threads accordingly.

17. When posting a new thread, use a clear and descriptive title. Thread titles such as "Why is this??" will be closed and people who post vague threads repeatedly will find themselves with bans. Also, if you are talking about something that is a spoiler, denote it in your title.

18. You cannot have offensive sentences, phrases, or curse words in your user name. You cannot insult 2K or Irrational, or Take2, with your user name. You cannot impersonate any employee of these companies, or insult them. Please do not use the phrases "Irrational" "2K" or "Take2" in your user name. If you do, your name will be perma-banned.

20. Finally, the 2K forums host civil discussions on a variety of topics, and we always want to keep the conversation welcoming, inclusive, and a positive experience. Please remember that others will be reading what you write without knowledge of your state of mind or sarcastic intent. Arguments are won by convincing the other side, not by scoring points with the crowd through personal attacks or rudeness. Other obnoxious behavior, such as spam, also detracts from the quality of conversation. Please don't cause trouble for the sake of causing trouble, and don't try to get around the rules.
