My friend said I can get a refund since this is still in beta. Can any moderator help me find where or tell me how to do it?

You need to contact the retailer you purchased it from

Your friend outright lied to you, the game is released, and not in any test of any sort

The game isn't in beta - there is a patch coming, but beta is long over. :o

Civ V is the best game in the last decade. You should be honored that you are contributing to all the suggestions for the next patch.

Weird, but it feels like I'm constantly having my game crash and graphic glitches constantly. Had this game gone through beta phase? Did I just pay early for beta access and am now still waiting for the game to release? I'm still wondering how to return this game for a full refund.

If your having problems, I would contact tech support. While I admit I have had very little issues with this game I understand it can be frustrating and I am certain 2k would love to get you up and running properly.

My game is unplayable, I did contact support, I got the distinct feeling there is no fix for mid-late game crashing right now and will receive the run around until the patch is out

then its... "O hey glad you picked up the phone! We got the game fix right here, arent we great! lulz thanks for owning a game you couldnt play for a month, we appreciate the money advance!"

This guy pretty much summed up my basic logic also. If I wanted to join a beta game I def. wouldn't have paid for it. So I'm still curious as how to refund this game and just possibly buy it again when the patch comes out. I think at the moment only God knows if it will fix all the major crashing, glitches, exploits in the game.

Sounds like the either the CPU or graphics card might be overheating. A while back my PC would just shut down for no apparent reason. Turned out the processor fan was shot and needed to be replaced. However, I never had any graphics glitches.

You might want to check this thread out

What are the temps when your running the game? Civ V pushes my Galaxy 240 in to the mid-80 Celsius range.

Again, by contacting the retailer.

You can not refund a license. If you want a refund because you read the EULA that is different, but kind of late for you now.

In the future, you need to do two things.

1.) Never buy a release.
2.) Check with the forums if you are buying a new game.

Sorry, but 2kgames owns your copy of the game. They grant you the right to use the game only as the see fit. If you do not like it, stop playing 2kgame or pc games.

But of course 2kgames has always had that reputation, which is why you very carefully deal with them, see above.

If they got a refund, they wouldn't be able to whine here. Actually, strike that, they probably would anyway.

I overlooked your post. Terribly sorry about that. I'll try contacting Steam report then.

One last question I found the "upcoming" patch notes and saw "When the patch is actually released I'll unstick and close this thread." Well, how come they don't have an ETA? This game has been out for quite a while. And these patches seem like they should have been fixed in beta.

If your retailer is steam, they dont offer refunds on digital purchases.

You didnt read the entire patch thread, there is an ETA

Glad to see those places where modern business rules aren't understood and where people still know the taste of human flesh, finally got connected to the internet, while still being able to stick with their traditions. :p
