Here are 5 things that I believe would make Civ V the perfect game.

#1 Add the ability to pick where you would like you Civ to start (examples could be North America, South America, Europe Asia, Australia or random)

#2 add an in-game map editor instead of an external program, or make the map editor download-able/usable even if you don't own the game.( Some people like to make maps just for others to use, and I'm sure others who do own the game would also love it)

#3 enable discovering satellites to reveal the map. Over a game of Civ people can go 2500 turns and still not meet every civilization (trust me iv done it) Adding this feature is both realistic and useful when trying to meet new civs without wasting turns traveling the map trying to find them..

#4 Fix the unit to unit combat , iv fought enemy units and the game tells me it will result in a stalemate yet my troops/unit still gets wiped out. (last time i checked Stalemate meant a stalemate ends in a draw.

#5 Allow certain units to travel over ice ( we can do it in real life so why cant 1 or 2 units do it in game)

If anyone has anything to add feel free and ill add them to the list :)

*Updates*

#6 Add the ability to trade tech ( This used to be a very handy option in the previous Civ titles and we would love to have it back)

#7 More in-depth diplomacy (Suggested by Mythdracon)

-Permanent alliances possible and hard to attain.
-AI appreciate the civs that liberate them (unless you declare war on them after liberating them)
-Pacts of Cooperation and Secrecy have a set number of turns they last for.
-Can cancel deals with an AI (in which case, if they gave you a lump sum of money, you have to return that lump sum immediately--stops exploiting)
-When you offer open borders to an AI, they should explore your territory thoroughly, rather than just sitting on their continent so you can sell Open Borders to them again later.
-Research Agreements shouldn't give you the tech you're currently researching.
-UN Resolutions should be added, including Nuclear Non-proliferation, various trade treaties, an Environmental resolution, etc.
-AI more willing to go to war with other AI for a price.
-AI won't call you a "warmonger" if you go to war with someone they are fighting/dislike.
-AI won't sign Research Agreements with civs they intensely dislike.

3. There is a certain randomness in combat and its good . There are no 100% predictable results in combat. tHe numbers seem to deviate +/- 2 HP in the results so its easy to manage.

6. You want tech trading back. I dont . I hated the tech whoring. I dot sailing...give me Iran working ...now trade Iron trading for horse riding.. ITs boring its cheesey and its good that its gone.
