When will this be patched it's bad enough with random crashes I've learned to save often but this permanent peace is a game killer. I can't do anything I am at peace with everyone!
Please patch this soon. I know people are having major problems just getting the game to run but this has got to be high on the list of things in the next patch.

This one requires a patch to fix :( Best you can do is save often and try to roll back to fix the problem.

I think there is a correlation with accepting peace with gold, luxuries, and cities and permanent peace.
When you take these things the peace will never end I don't think the gold and luxuries per turn are ever canceled. If you only take the regular ten turn peace it will be canceled after ten turns.
I have to test to be sure but I think this is where the bug is.
quick question as i don't have the permanent peace issue yet is it possible to make the AI declare war on you? i remember in the older games you could continuously offer them the same unfair trade for like 15-20 seconds and it would plumit their mood towards you and making them declare war. It probably won't work but it would be something to try

So far not successfully I had three great artists saved up and marched them to the boarder with India and took 6 iron, gems, and horses. Other than a "I can't believe you did that" from Gandhi nothing happened. He wanted to trade on the next turn. :(
I have heard that there is one way out of permanent peace you can nuke them and it will trigger a war, but I am nowhere near getting nukes in this game so it's done.
what about declaring war ona city state they've pledged to protect he may just revoke his protection pledge but i imagine it will help push his opinion of your further down also when they ask to trade put all their cities in you demands and just click purpose like 20 times see if it may sink his opinion of you far enough

I managed to break the permanent peace bug when the AI detected a "buildup of units" (they were in my borders, he just moved a unit near me and got line-of-sight on my little gathering, triggered helpfully by this bug here (http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93309)).
The pop-up window asks if you want to declare war or are "moving through" - I picked declare war, and we were at war.
Not sure if this will always work, as the circumstances surrounding this permanent peace bug are odd to say the least.
