I downloaded the Civ5 Demo via Steam two days ago and i have had the same problem every time i try to play the game. Everything works fine at first. The cinematic plays, the main menu appears but when i start a new game the game crashes a few seconds after the load screen appears.
I have tried updating DirectX, running DXSetup.exe, updating my nVidia drivers, running the game from every possible location (via Steam, desktop, the game folder; you name it), but with the same result every time.
I really would like to try the demo before buying the game and if the demo won't work i'm not really comfortable buying the game either. Can anyone please help? I've been googling for hours!
