Buy this game. Immediately. Unbelievable, the hype is the truth. Name the last time that happened for a game. First allow me to illustrate my rise to glory and conquest in this new civilization universe....

Marathon, America, Domination only. Washington baby, lets get this Manifest Destiny party started.

Throw down in the motown. Huge map, max AI players, max city states. Barbarians Ahoy. Decided i'm rolling Honor. Bout oh... say... 120 turns in and i've razed an Aztec city, an Egyptian City, an Arabic Empire city, and also attacked Siam. Threw down a great general super early, with two warrior armies, an archer army, and a spearman army. Burning down mothers like there is no tomorrow. All have payed me tribute for peace treaties.

I'm three cities strong now and thoroughly dominating my continent. My early aggression and constant war campaign against the barbarians has earned me vast amounts of capital wealth and experience. My troops grow fat and bold. My general, confident.

You'll note in the community section it highlights the role gold plays in this game. It's huge. FARM Barbarians. That's my advice to you. Produce military and purchase your settlers INSANTLY with gold. Constant growth and progression. Lay on the aggression early if you go the Honor tree.

Templar Out. -Live well brothers of war.

The one after warlord. Posting from campus, can't load my game to check that lol. Noble? The one after warlord. Does the difficulty not feel as brutal in this one or is it just me? Cause I remember in my early civ experiences the difficulty felt like it progressed very, very, rapidly. It's still VERY early into the game considering what turn im on in Marathon so my fortune may be shattered into bits come mid game.

And no, you philistine... not "settler". Lol.
