I wake up at 5am on Wednesday the 22nd of September to check out Civ5. I think to myself, awesome, I can play for an hour before work, it might get me through until this evening when I can really sink my teeth into it.
I have it pre-loaded, got the deluxe super awesome edition because I love throwing money at Civ. Hell I bought Civ 4 about 5 times, giving it to friends etc. So excited, like a little kid before Christmas..... Civmas.
I can't play the game, I live in Australia. Australians have to wait until the 23rd to play. Is this a sick joke? (At this point I'd like people to insert large amounts of profanity into my sentences.)
When I saw posts over the last few days it was all about release day being 21st, I didnt even mind all that much that I would actually have to wait until the 22nd. But seriously, another day? Maybe two? (Depending if it unlocks on my time, or NA time).
Gaming is the pinacle of modern entertainment. In a digital world here we sit in our oversized chairs with our caffeinated beverage of choice, able to reach out and digitally touch my brothers and sisters accross the globe. Yet we cant have a world release of a game. A game that simulates the world.
I am so dissapointed it hurts.
Edit: Steam is now telling me this game will unlock in 2 days and X hours. So my fellow Aussies have to wait until Friday to play.
Before it is said, I realise with a little research I could probably have found the release time for Australia prior to my monumental dissapointment this morning.
