Is it released today? Can it be preloaded like civ 5 can? Where can I get it from?

Yes on Steam at 14:0000 GTM or 15:00 GTM+1

Steam. It will be on Steam. Yes, possibly today. And no we don't know exactly when because we all know Valve works on Valve Time.

Go to the Store page inside Steam. Find the Civ 5 page, and when the demo is available, there should be a link on there to download the demo, somewhere near to the "purchase" buttons.

thanks - i really hope my laptop, which coincidentally will arrive today (this is the third time, the first two were damaged) will arrive in less than four and a half hours!

Oh, the service of Dixons is so terrible that after they srewed up twice they haven't even shipped out my delivery yet, even though this is the fifth of the maximum five working days.

NEVER use dixons. Terrible service, terrible products.

Well as someone who lives in the EST timezone (of which it's 8:05 am as I type this), it's not currently up on steam. So it may be up by the launch time for the US... Or it might be later...

Yep, good question: I don't see any pre-downloadable or pre-installable demo so far... Baaaaad!! Any news on this, guys?
We non-US or non-Canadians cannot play the real game until Sept 24th, but at least give us the Demo, possibly pre-downloadable!

Well 2K Greg did say it wold be available at the same time the full US game unlocks, so will probably have to wait till then. It's going to be exactly midnight here in Melbourne. And provided it's available straight away, not sure how long it will take to download.

Might be tempted to install and play just ONE turn! (yeah right - ;) )

I should have planned to take tomorrow off work! :(

It's 9:05 am now, Civ5 unlocks at 10 am... so 55 minutes until when they said the demo would be out.

Yeah that was me but we're in daylight saving time so we're basically GTM+2 during that. Sorry about that.
