My first Civ besides Civilization Revolution, wish me luck! I trust it served as a good tutorial and introduction to the series. I've already read the 200+ page instructions so I'm ready for some in-depth strategic city planning and war! :)

Let the part of 'tutorial' be very strong.

Revolution (if its the one I'm thinking of on the consoles) is somewhere between being simplified and /very/ simplified.

I enjoyed Revolution myself, but the genuine Civ series is going to be a very different experience.

One worth looking forward to :)

revolution was good for one thing: Multiplayer , obviously 2k had to elimanate most of the tech tree so people could have a game in 4 hours instead of 12 (like the pc version)

it is a great game for consoles don't get me wrong, but compated to the pc versions, it doesn't hold a candle

I played some Revolution on a friend's console and really liked it actually... not as much as 4, but it was cool in a different way. I am looking forward to seeing some of that streamlining in Civ5.

My 12 yr old son played it briefly on a friend's DS. When I asked him if he wanted it, he said it was too simple. He plays Civ4.
