This last month has been torture. It just seems to take forever and I wish I could just fast forward to the 24th. All this time, though, I have been telling myself that I could at least play the demo from the 21st through to the 24th. But is this true for Europeans? Can I download and play the demo on the 21st to make the wait for the 24th more bearable, while reading Americans' cries of joy on the forums?

The demo can be played worldwide on the 21st (as long as you have a Steam account)

Oh joy! And can you pre-load it like you can the complete version?
If I counted correctly, it wil unlock at 3 p.m. at GMT+1. Can anyone confirm this?

Well, I assume that you live in France, Germany or Italy. Then the full game will unlock for you on the 24th at 1am. The demo will probably unlock at the same time as the American game is released (which is stupid, they should release it at midnight on the 21st in NZ's time zone, so Americans have a chance to test it on their machines)

I live in the Netherlands (don't overlook us like Firaxis did with Civ 5 (so far)! ;))
I meant can you pre-load the demo too? And "the same time as the American game" will probably be in the afternoon (when it is morning there) in Europe, correct? In that case I guess I will actually have to get some work in before it unlocks...:(

Yea, I would also like to know if we Europeans can play the demo before the 24th. Any official statement to that?

Yes. They've mentioned that many many times. The demo release on the 21st is a worldwide release.

Any confirmation about the content of the demo? 100 turns and 4 civs like in Civ IV or..?

I just checked steam and no demo preload. IMHO think that it should be smart to provide preload for the demo too. So the steam servers have a chance of coping with us eager beavers.

Sorry for the offtopic but I just have to share some timezone details. GMT+1 is generally seen as CET or Central European Time, and GMT+0 as Western European Time. While it is true that Western Europe is at the moment technically in GMT+1 (due to summer time) and Central Europe in GMT+2, none of the countries you gave as examples are in the Western European (Summer) timezone.
France, Germany and Italy are actually in CET and not in WET. Actually most of Europe (dozens of countries) is in CET :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_European_Time
Whatever the case, let's just hope that all of us outside of NA get to play the demo on the 21st

Oh. I always thought that Western Time had a different name (Like British Isles Time or something)
