How does enabling or disabling physx affect the visuals? ( not talking about fps)

Search function doesn't work for me at the moment and I would google physx in general, but I'm interested how it affects Mafia 2 to be honest. What does it do?

Physx is phisics in game it affect the performance becouse cpu has to calculate phisics.Since the cpu cant calculate the phisics so fast coz it has other thing in game to calculate the special ppu(phisics procesing unit) in nvidia gpu does that instead the cpu!

it's a physics engine.

it's used to make cloths sway in the wind and make glass shattering look more realistic among other things.

it won't improve the visuals per say, but it will make destruction of objects seem more realistic.
