Gene Tonic disappeared

Perhaps this has already been answered and I apologize for the post if so.

I picked up the hacker gene tonic in the crematorium, equipped it, and went to try to hack a vending machine. I purposely failed and got damaged. Later when I picked up the wrench gene tonic I noticed the hacker gene tonic was no longer equipped and appears to have disappeared. Any one else have this happen?

Yeah, that happened to me too. Was quite annoyed about that. Still, as i now can't play the game for more than 30 seconds without a crash, it's not really imparing my enjoyment of the game all that much :)

It's not gone. There are actually three sets of tonics:

Physical
Engineering
Combat

You start with two slots in each

This wasn't explained well anywhere and I was throughly confused when I picked up my second tonic (first in a different line) and found my first tonic "missing."

Page 11 in the manual. ;) (US version that is.)

There's also a small tutorial about them when you pick up your first tonic I believe. When you choose which tonic to put down, it says which type of tonic it is too.

Unless I missed it, they never clearly explained that your tonic types are displayed independently of one another.

The bigger issue here is that you can't view your loadout unless you're at a Gene Bank.
