Well that you may have to wait longer for because he may be either the last boss or the half way through boss or something like that so you probably will only see glimpses of HIM every now and again.

Him seems like he's just gonna annoy me. From what I've read in GameInformer it sounds like at some point in the game you're gonna have the option to kill Him and if you do Elizabeth will be pissed. This annoys me because if she's that ******* stupid she deserves to be left in Columbia. The sheer stupidity of growing attached to something that has kept you imprisoned for fifteen years just boggles my mind.

Yeah I know it was short and I can't wait to see the actual game play on the 21st when it comes out and it makes sense because that may be the only thing she has know for all of her life so even it if is the think keeping her there she will be attached to it.

Her being attached to it is not the problem. Her acting on that attachment is. It is attempting to kill the people who are trying to help her and she defends it? That is monumental stupidity. Of course I could be completely wrong about all this. This is just the impression I got from reading the GameInformer article.

Well, i just got my GI in (Him and She cover FTW!), and i have to say it's got me insanely excited for BS:I. The more i read about it the more i fell it's going to be as good and original as the first BS.

The relationship between Him and Elizabeth is really interesting and i'm excited to see how the encounters with Him will play out. At first i didn't see how the Handymen (or alpha's?) could be seen as threatening, but there's a picture in the BS:I article where he looks pretty damn terrifying.

Agreed. It's a very narionalist termology. I wonder which society they are using in reference? There were quite a few. Germany, the Jews, the Greeks. Romans...quite a legnthy historical list. Perhaps it refers to the Nazi-esque mentality. The elitism of the Aryan race Hitler portrayed as a direct parody. The elite American select, living in Columbia high above the rest.

I am definitely interested in seeing how this progressed. A lot of thought going into this series.

I don't think you'll have any kind of ''plasmids''...just powers/abilities that you/the player/Booker gets from drinking tonics,like the Murder of Crows tonic,which apparently gives the drinker the ability to summon crows to attack people

Yeah the Murder of Crows will probably be the plasmids along with Elizabeth's powers which will be pretty cool when they are combined.

I can't describe it all that well. Just... Simply put it is a simmilar "concept" to Insect Swarm but it is far more viceral and physical in the reactions that it causes to both the person it is used on (be it Booker or the enemies) and the person using it.

It's pretty gross.

Very cool video!

The graphics were absolutely beautiful, and it seems like things are going to be much more… dynamic, for lack of a better term. The animations look better, the combat looks better, and just subtle things like turning projectiles around before launching them back are smart moves, and help make this feel more realistic.

Some concerns, though, are that this video felt very scripted. Think back to Hunting the Big Sister and Hunting the Big Daddy, yes, those videos were fairly linear and followed a set path, but you could tell that things were reacting to their actions, not to scripted events in most cases. This, however, looked like a playable cutscene… yes, it was cool, hearing Booker DeWitt comment on what was going on, and hearing NPCs interact with one another, but it didn't feel like real gameplay, it felt like these were all scripted events, and that's what concerns me to an extent. Like I said, I know it's just an early test build, but it was enough to raise a couple of red flags.

One other thing, I really wish they'd just tell us one way or another if Infinite has any canonical connections to the previous two games, because it seems that all signs point to 'no,' yet when HIM groans like a Big Daddy, it makes me wonder how deep these connections go. Argh! Irrational, why must you frustrate me so! :(

ok i watched the video....my thoughts...OMG! the exterior of Columbia is awesome and it is bioshocky. and that patriot's look after you take the rifle...i wonder on which drugs is he (jk). enemies and battle mechanics are great. and those "plasmids" i love how they look expecialy murder of crows and "electro bolt" one. and have you noticed that you have telekinesis from the beginning? liz's powers are awesome. an why is she sick? there's no "adam" like in Rapture? and Handy...is there more and not just one? and at the end of the video...i was just omg wut? Think back to Hunting the Big Sister and Hunting the Big Daddy, yes, those videos were fairly linear and followed a set path, but you could tell that things were reacting to their actions, not to scripted events in most cases. This, however, looked like a playable cutscene… yes, it was cool, hearing Booker DeWitt comment on what was going on, and hearing NPCs interact with one another, but it didn't feel like real gameplay, it felt like these were all scripted events, and that's what concerns me to an extent. Like I said, I know it's just an early test build, but it was enough to raise a couple of red flags.

From what they've said, Booker's going to be nattering the WHOLE game. Not too impressed.

I had the same feeling about the trailer myself. It does feel awfully scripted, staged, etc. I don't know how much of that was cutscene, how much of it was not cut scene (I think that from where Booker throws the thing at the top of the bridge to the end is a cutscene, but I may be wrong). The whole thing felt like it was a cut scene, not a gameplay demo.

Now, I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, but I am not entirely sure how it's going to work as a game. I just have to remind myself that there is two years before it comes out.

I do believe Steve Gaynor mentioned on the forums that the slugs in Rapture are mutated by a bioluminescent mass beneath Persephone (the light that you see in that level) to create ADAM.

I think the reason it feels kind of scripted was the lack of any HUD or HP bar and what not. Then again the scripted parts were really stunning (Bell tower) I just hope the WHOLE game doesn't do that. Booker is narrating the entire game? Really? That would grate on your nerves after awhile. I hope this is untrue.

You guys see Booker Tk the gun from the guy, ☺☺☺☺ it in mid air and fire it back at him? omg, that was one of my favorite parts.

The entire game was not scripted, but there were many parts that were. If you watch the fight scenes you can tell that a player is playing. The bad aiming, shakyness and he cant quit decide which vigors/tonics? to use.

I had my doubts about the handyman's ability to scare me, but this demo put those to rest.

However, why would there be people still going about there day to day lives when there city is in chaos? I mean that lady sweeping her porch while her house burns down? wtf.........

I feel that this game will be absolutley groundbreaking. I mean Ken's team may have finally bridged the gap between cut scenes and gameplay.....even us Bioshock vets could not tell which was which. Never have I seen a game do that.

Still, Columbia's no Rapture. I dont think it even came close. Seeing Rapture for the first time was much more draw dropping and magicl. Columbia looks incredible, but Raptures still my favorite. However, in ten years, when Infinite finally drops, I may change my mind.

it blew me away. i havent expected a game like this since MGS4.

Everything looks great, the Handyman looks terrifying (something i thought would be hard to accomplish), and HIM reminds me of a steampunk bird crossed with a Big Daddy.

Murder of Crows looks very brutal and i can't wait to see what kinda hell you can bring with it! Overall, i am insanely excited for this new chapter of Bioshock and i believe it will be a wonderful experience. :D (did i mention how ☺☺☺☺ing amazing MoC looks???)

Those are the only words I can describe for the trailer I just saw. Sure Im late for the bandwagon, but man... that was cool!

Its strange to thnik after all that though that they probably wont even make a reference to Rapture. Seeing as it gave some very obvious clues, considering Rapture in mind. (Electrobolt, the HIM sounding exactally like a BD, TK)

Still, the elements seem very interesting and I do have a few questions.


Is the game not going to have a hud like it did in this gameplay? Or will there be some ammo count and you know. The basics.
Is everyone crazy, or will you meet some people who arent always against you after 10 seconds of hanging around them?
Do you think will be doing that exact same situation in the game? Or is it just the teaser to get people going on it?

During the interview, they said their favorite GI cover was of concept art of Elizabeth and Booker. Since no concept art of Elizabeth and Booker showed up, I believe the art is that of the Elizabeth and the HIM.

How this happens or whether or not it is true remains to be seen. This also ties in to the face that can be made out in the HIM's goggle eye on the GI cover.

During the interview, they said their favorite GI cover was of concept art of Elizabeth and Booker. Since no concept art of Elizabeth and Booker showed up, I believe the art is that of the Elizabeth and the HIM.

How this happens or whether or not it is true remains to be seen. This also ties in to the face that can be made out in the HIM's goggle eye on the GI cover.

But...we see HIM in the gameplay video, and we're playing as Booker, right? Also, I didn't even notice the face until now. o_o

I remember them saying that it was "down tot he wire" and had "undergone many changes" and they were "glad to get a third one in, because it was the coolest one drawn up really quickly..."

--What had transpired previously in Columbia before now it crumbling and falling state like that?
--Were there animals?(chickens, pigs, dogs and cats)
--What's the significant of the crows? to me in real live===>means death; already dead.
--What's classes of people in Columbia? or there any?

There was obviously crows, I think there was a dead dog which had crows picking at it and towards the end of the footage there was a horse that ended up getting hurled away by the Handyman, so I'm guessing there were/are animals up there.

The guy inside the Him Raven suit looks disfigured. Like quazi Modo or something. Elizabeth seems to have some sort of attachment to it(Him). Maybe he saved her or something? She seems to see something in the Beast.

The horse was actually to the left of Booker and Elizabeth when they were taking cover.

You will more then likely see other birds roaming the sky, that may be it though.

Don't know if this has been discussed before, but when DeWitt picks up a rifle, Saltonstall's Stars and Banner badge changes into the communist Hammer and Sickle, he then yells a line in Russian and changes back. This is ironic, as his campaign posters and his speech tells us he's trying to prevent this.

I don't like the bar scene, they were happy even with him entering the room and then all of a sudden they get hive mind to shoot him? If it was more of a "Hey, isn't that the guy who's trying to kidnap Elizabeth?" and then they start shooting then it would have been more acceptable.

Actually, they only seemed to retaliate when the shotgun was picked up, not when the enemy was killed.

When you shoot someone your intent is to kill and you only really want to kill someone if you have genuine rage. If the barman was enraged by his presence then why not shoot him upon entering the bar? There was enough time in between him entering the bar and him being shot to make the scene look unrealistic.
