All of this is NOT BY ANY MEANS SPAM!
-Just a way to see who likes what kind of music and whatever, seeing we all play a strategy game with kiddy graphics (rated 12+), and some amongst us have different ages...so I figured it would be a nice test to see what people can have in common down here!

PLAY LOUD!!! IIRC, it was a cover of a mudhoney song.

Hmm, liked the guitars a bit, but they'r not as good as I hoped...
-nice effort tough :)

You seem indeed like the rocker type; not the heavy one, but more for the nice guitars and comprehendable, sometimes even deep-going lyrics...

My favorite band is System of a Down and my favorite singer is Serj Tankian (if you know System of a Down, you know who Serj Tankian is :D )

However, I like other bands, like The Killers, Rammstein. However, I listen to some random music that I like, or other bands/singers like Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, Michael Jackson, Guns 'n' Roses, etc.. (I could think about other bands for hours).

Well I’m back from holidays in Germany, but I probably won’t be playing much Civ Rev, waiting for Civ V atm.

Music wise I like most everything however heavy metal would probably be at the bottom of my list.

Here are all the bookmarked songs I like. I have many other favourites but it’s too much effort looking them up, however i have quite a few bookmarked anyway.

Stone Roses - very nice! Somehow a copy of that album was shipped (probably by mistake) to a record store in Duluth, Minnesota in 1989. I bought it and it dawned on me that the world was larger than the local bus line would have you believe.

Well spotted, I’m surprised someone checked all the links.

The Stone Roses are one of my favourite bands, their songs are just brilliant and usually have some sort of meaning, I thought the song Full Fathom Five was corrupted until I looked it up and discovered they intentionally had it reversed.

One song that isn’t in my bookmarks is Bob Dylan’s Hurricane. A truly legendary song but I prefer the studio version over the live versions and last time I checked there seemed to be no studio versions on youtube, which I thought was strange.

Well, yes, of course Germans are all severely deranged to the last man. Have you ever heard the Scorpions? What must that guy do to himself to be able to sing so high?

Just because their music is crazy doesn't mean yours isn't!

Well my dear Metalheads in spé : Thrash metal is a kind of metal where you play at fast rates with a good riff, mostly on a guitar which is a bit distortedfor nice sound effects.
Then you need to walk the thin line between singing beautiful and drunk screaming...and you get thrash, like ElThrasher!

Ze Germans have some decent bands, but yes, they will keep being weird.
-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmjHvYJq8DY
Tankard here brings "space beer" : another one of their alcoholic songs (they make nothing but songs about alcoholic beverages I think...)

But the weirdest and still decent metal I came across was PIRATE METAL!!!!

->Swashbuckle playing "cruiseship terror" live, just to let you see how they are.

And yes, the costumes are for sale would you have the urge to dress up like a shark with a swimmer in your mouth for halloween ;)

Music taste threads
My favourite artists right now are: Joy Division, Radiohead, Interpol, Neil Young and John Coltrane. I listen to a lot of alternative rock and occasionally jazz. I'm a big fan of Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, 70s Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin and Al Di Meola though. Surprisingly I'm also into metal. Iron Maiden, early Metallica and Pantera in particular but also progressive-era Death (Human onwards) and Cynic. Alternative metal like Tool also appeals to me.

Do you say that because dead people are not deranged, but dead? Beethoven was suicidal and possibly bipolar. Mozart was perhaps more stable, but he probably had an intimate relationship with his cousin and had a fondness for scatological humor.

Hmm... I don't like posting just songs, because if I like an artist, I usually find a way to love a load of their songs... So I'll just post some names.

Opeth, Katatonia, The Beatles, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Tool, Matchbox 20, Blue October, Porcupine Tree, Massive Attack, Blackfield.

And I could go on and on, but that's just a few examples. I love music... The kind I listen to though, all depends on how I'm feeling. If I'm sad, I can't put on a happy song to try and cheer me up. It just doesn't fit.. That goes for other moods too. :)

So as you can see, my taste in music can range from Opeth's screams and growls, to the cheerful tunes given to us by The Beatles. :D
