Lolololol
Not as bad as my fail...
I kept on staring at thunderstorms and hoped that a tripod would suddenly pop out of the ground, open up, and somehow, i would be able to use it and zap people off the face of the Earth while laughing like a maniac...

The original novel makes you feel really bad for them, as well as the 1970's musical version.

Stories of the reactions to the radio cast are funny, a bunch of guys shooting at a water tower as they thought it was a tripod. :D

I thought it was broadcasted everywhere. People went nuts, they thought it was real.
Some people saw fireworks, and thought it was lasers.
Wasn't the radio show in the form of news reports and such?

It was only broadcasted in New Jersey and yes, it was in the form of news reports.

They DID give warnings. The first one was in the beginning, but people were already listening to a different broadcast. Afterwards, they listened to the TWOTW one, but they had already said "The following radio broadcast is a drama based off of The war of the Worlds." and stuff. The next warning came AFTER people had started to panic and were already running around like crazy.
