It's very strange for a game to be pushed FORWARD. I'm thinking this has something to do with Mafia 2, since it's original date was the same as Mafia 2.

Yeah, I think that is the main reason why they pushed the game a week forward due to mafia 2 being released.

The reason why it was pushed forward, Was because all game CEO's say that with every success on launch day, Other titles are bound for doom.
And Kayne & Lynch 2 want an open window, With no launch date problems.
It's why Alan Wake suffered from terrible sales, Is because RDR killed it with sales.
If Alan Wake released a week earlier, It would have had alot better sales on the launch.

Here is what the IOI community manager said:
"Alright, so here's the deal. Since the Exclusive demo launched, there's been a pretty massive demand for the game and its worked out that the game can get through manufacturing earlier. This offers us a nice window for release, allowing gamers to get their hands on it a week earlier than planned. A formal announcement on the date change will be coming this week - I'm guessing tomorrow. "

Wish it was the other way around and mafia 2 was releasing earlier. Has it been announced when the Kane and lynch 2 demo will be out for everyone?

Well if you look at the gameplay vid's you'll see that they improved quite a bit.
The gunplay looks miles better and so does the coversystem and the Whole youtube shakycam thing seems to work rather than dumbing the gameplay down. Dunno about the storyline though, the first one was allright in my opinion,The characters stood out from your everyday action hero shootin' some bad guys.

To be honest, Eidos are a great company in my opinion. They made one of my most favourite game series HitMan, I have loved every HitMan they have made to date, I saw that kayne & Lynch 1 was from Eidos, And I decided to test it out on a Demo, I was quite disappointed, Terrible controls, Terrible anims, And not a very in-depth storyline it appears from the Demo, But Eidos now say that the gameplay has now been fixed. When there demo goes public I will be testing it out, And if it is as good as the HitMan series, Then I will buy it on PC.
Btw, Has anyone here played the exclusive demo? And if so what was it like in comparison to Kayne & Lynch 1?

its too late for that. The demo was only obtainable by getting a code via text message on july 1st and there was a limited supply. IDK whos idea was that but it was terrible marketing imo.

so how exactly do you get a massive demand by limiting the availability of a demo?

good question, i guess there marketing did work then haha. Still, it would make more sense to let everyone try it, especially people who hated the first one cause it really did improve a lot.

it'll be a bargain bin purchase for me, first was pretty horrible but I did like the concept.

Agreed. the characters where definitely more interesting vs your typical shooter type game.
plus it did not hurt that, at least to me, that one level where your coming out of the building with cops everywhere felt like that major shootout in the film 'Heat' (1995) which did not hurt things ;)
p.s. it's kind of messed up that the video memory REQUIRES 512MB which is a little ridiculous considering it says 'Geforce 7800' for minimum requirements and my 7900GT is faster but has less video memory. does not seem to make much sense they would do that.
even for CPU says this... "Processor: Intel 3.0 GHz or AMD 2.5 GHz or higher (Asked IO Interactive and Square Enix for a bit more of information regarding this)" as they are very vague on this. but overall by looking at the game i am not expecting to be able to run it considering even the first game did not run all that great on my PC.

Not really, I had a lot of fun playing online and doing co-op story. I'm really excited to play KL2, have something to do before Mafia 2 comes.

Anyone checked the Steam demo? lol, a lot of people are having problems like BSOD, virus alerts and computer restart. btw, the multiplayer is also completely filled with bugs. singleplayer is pretty sweet.

ill disagree. maybe it was the consoles that everyone said sucked with controls? , because i never had any real problems beating it on the PC.
the first game is nothing super great but i would say it's better than your typical shooter for sure as i liked the characters and feel of it even though it was basically a all out shooting fest. (but that one level on the first game reminded me of the movie 'Heat' (1995) with that huge shootout where your coming out of the building with cops everywhere and all hell breaks loose.
p.s. the demo on PC for Kane & Lynch 2 was good but to bad i had to basically turn off ALL the visuals/effects to as low as possible to keep a playable frame rate. but even then the graphics are still better than the first game even on low.
i noticed that when i had certain effects turned on (that improved visuals) i was getting fairly major artifacts when playing like the textures where really blocky and sometimes in the distance it would block up a lot and sometimes people's heads would turn into a bunch of big square pixels but i think that might be due to a lack of video memory(?) because my graphics card is 256MB (Geforce 7900GT on a AMD Athlon 3600+ CPU 2.0ghz overclocked to 2.4ghz with 2GB system RAM) and i thought i read somewhere that 512MB was needed or something but you see a lot of random sites giving out different requirements and they seem to be vague on what's required.... but once i turned off certain effects the game actually played and looked normal then even though the visuals took a hit because of it.
as for multiplayer... i am not even going to bother with it as it's basically a single player game and usually games that are meant to be single player usually have half-assed multiplayer.

i played the demo on playstation store the other day and kane and lynch dog days seemed pretty good to me, but i can see why they dont want it released on the same day because it does look like mafia 2 is going to be awesome and will probably be one of the games of the year
