That statement is incorrect then. Retaliation with the same tactic qualifies as using it. It's more correct not to say "I don't Box Spam". It is more correct to say "I hardly box spam", or "I only box spam upon retaliation". or "I don't Box Spam unless provoked".

People do not realize that if you don't appreciate such tactics (like GL abuse) It shouldn't be done by retaliation or getting even. It just looks like an act of hypocrisy. Hate GL spam? Don't ever equip the grenade Launcher. Hate Rez? Don't use it then. Hate box spamming? Then don't map your controls based on it. Lead by example or don't complain. He who has never sinned may cast the first stone.

i wouldnt go that far, there are definitely a decent amount of players that do it, just not for a living.

And i would agree that host always matters but that is why box spamming is so effective against host, especially headshotters, because box spamming eliminates the speed difference between headshots, for the most part

the most funny thing ever was that somebody wish I consider a real pro (aldo he usually box spams )
fighted against me and didt box spam the entire match
after I got defeated by him I said: first real GG its great to not see u BS
he answered you say it as if I need it to win i dont need to BS
the next match we faced eachother we where both full health I had EB/vanillaCB and he had EB/damageCB
we both zapped eachother and missed or first headshot and landed a botty shot.
I then zapped him to kill him with vanilla CB shot, only to get killed by him shooting with CB.
now there is no way he could have shot with damage sooner then I would have with vannila,
since damage normally reloads slow. meaning> HE BS ME SECONDS AFTER HE STATED THAT HE DIDNT NEEDED IT

People can box spam if they want to, its really not that bad or annoying. Any good player can easily combat it.

Its a choice of preference. Box spamming is just another technique used by players.
I don't think its right to criticize box spamming, calling it cheap and unfair because anytime someone comes up with a new idea of how to utilize a weapon there are always haters.

The only time in which box spamming is cheap is when two people are trying to no stun each other.

Other than that i personally could care less if someone box spams its not going to effect the outcome of the game for me more so than if someone was using EB/CB

Try one of the bumpers for your melee. you can always switch off plasmid switch and weapon switch with... umm x, y, a, b? Yeah.. My friends have the xboxs, I'm the odd one out lol.

yeah, I was in that match with you, I dies right in front of you and watch you hacke that machine twice, it was lag (it was an extrememly laggy host) but it was the only match I could find.

You finished hacking it, game sent the info to host's system, and started to rehack t before confirmation returned from host's system.

I would say that was a frustrating match but all in all I had allot working against me that made me just not care, specifically lag, lag spikes (momentary pauses), only slept a total of 4 hours in 2 days (out of coffee as well), was only on a level 16 account and most of all, I am temporarily unable to see out of my right eye due to infected injury. And my random team mate couldn't stop sucking, how to you reach lvl 40/50 and NOT develop any skills?! (I know... boosters).

There were no reference to base a standard, everything was so new, the gameplay was unique, not like any FPS multiplayer I had ever played. It was refreshing to say the least.

I'm sure there are many people willing to tell you how to do it off the forums, but it is more or less a taboo to discuss how to do glitches and unfair-play in the official forums. So like I tell everyone who ask me, If you wish to know bad enough, you'll definitely find out soon enough, either by your own hands or by word of mouth.

oh course haha i was like go, go, go.......and the only reason the matches im in go by fast is because i play sotf with my bf and he always wins lol i will have like 8 kills and be in 2nd while it pops up that he won the match.......and i also dislike neptunes bounty, always have, not a big fan of home for the poor either.......and awe you no no like puddle traps? haha they are my fave :D

I'm speaking merely on terms of past tense. We couldn't call it cheezey kills at the time without proper analysis and information of what we now know. For example, Penicillin was also thought to be quite an absurd technique developed in medicine. It was not until the results of experimentation has proved the theory viable. It has reinforced what the populace knows about penicillen. What we know now would make it seem quite strange how they assumed it to be a far-fetched theory from the start.

Box Spamming required button sequences that I was unfamiliar to- heck button sequences were never a concern in the game to begin with. During that time, the total population of the users was four. With such a small head count, and nothing to base level of difficulty yet, how can anyone say it was a cheezey kill? It was a kill that was never achieved by the masses. No one expected it, no one knew about it, or had to even try to look for it.

It was out of hand. Many individuals became curious, as to how it worked. Others tried replicating it and reconstructing it themselves. It's a simple button sequence. Anyone can find it out and replicate it fairly easily by just looking. Many layers whom I have asked have told me they had found out themselves by watching closely on the kill cam.

The issue of spotting it and fair use aren't exactly connected. There must be a discrepancy. The spotting and ignorance of Box Spamming only applies to the past. Fair-use is on the basis of how it is used. Which at this point is clear. Yet still remains ambiguous, as fair-use of any technique in this game is subject to the eye of the beholder.

I agree. There is no way to police any play-style at all. But Box Spamming is not a drug, it does not have withdrawal symptoms to that degree (Although, my fingers move on their own at times as of reflex.) It is as simple as stopping and playing the way you have before doing it. I have used it in my concept of fair-use, as to use it as a way to hit in-between headshots over multiple targets. I have dubbed it lag-cancel. I however, do not use it consecutively, 2 body shots after the other with or without the aid of the stun. Which, without stuns being unfair-use and with stuns as very unfair-use.




At this point, it shouldn't even be a topic of argument. BS2 MP is like a public swimming pool, even if you manage to remove all the pee, the next group in is just gonna ruin it all over again...

Crowd control and the meta game are hard to and possibly impossible to influence. As of now, the only thing anyone can do is self-appointed policing.

'Tis true that everything takes a certain amount of skill, but that also includes an existing threshold or a limit to exactly how much the amount can be placed unto said skill. My view does not come from a dislike or hatred of headhunting loadouts, but rather from personal experience. Mechanically speaking, headhunting can be attributed to simple shifting of (x, y) coordinates that are aimed upon a single point. Move 3 paces to the west, 5 paces to the north. As it seems to me, the only modifiers there are to look out for that deal with an inherent player's skill is the time it takes for the stun to activate, the duration of the stun, and the shift of the point, if moved by pivoting.

I'd also like to note the visibility of the target point makes the task quite easier. One can easily assume that players who have monitors that have clearer and much wider dimensions to work with are placed in a more advantageous position. Which, overall does not have much to do with a player's inherent skill-level but rather the specs of their monitor. Lag is also an unnatural condition that does not test a player's headhunting skill, exclusively, but does test their ability to adapt to it.

It should be noted be that learning curves do slope after a while. The limitations of human conditioning of motor, hand-eye coordination, can go so far.

The games passive auto-aim definitely puts aim into question, as it moves the reticule like a magnet.. The inconsistent hit-detect is probably just lag working its mischief. The space (what you see) may be two frames behind the hosts, which must be detected there in order for the shot to "appear" in your screen. Not to mention the potential packet loss from inconsistent hosts causing further turmoil..

Not at all. In many contexts it proves to be quite skillful in terms of efficiency. I alternate between capture loadouts and my "killing" load out since they work so symbiotically! A quick run to the vent, an expected death, and clearing of the room with a power loadout.

Consistency is hard to achieve at times. It's a struggle everyone goes through haha. I notice you always pick the elephant gun over the crossbow.. I recommend trying out the crossbow, even though it limits free tonics to two after putting in headhunter, what you are actually trading up for is an insanely, broken auto-aim. xD
That is definitely what you want if you value efficiency as much as I do. The arrow hitbox is substantially bigger then the elephant gun hitbox. I find the Elephant gun truly shines with it's extra tonic slot and it's ability to dish out easy no stuns from mid to close range.

Depends on your natural motor, hand-eye coordination. Mechanics of the game are easy enough that you can attempt it the moment you unlock a headhunting weapon. Maybe as early as rank 18 with the elephant gun or rank 10 with the crossbow. You can then work on consistency. A good 500 hours should be enough to be consistent most of the time. That is assuming you use it 75% of the playthrough.

The elephant gun was the weapon I originally learned the EB headshot combo with, then I switched to RoF crossbow after a brief break that left me too clumsy with headhunting... After finding myself more reliable at hitting the head I went back to the EG. So, at this point it's more of what I'm used to... seeing that crossbow blocking the entire bottom half of my screen seems weird to me now lol

I totally agree with you, the auto-aim definitely favors the crossbow... I said that months ago, and I think that's why you tend to find more crossbow enthusiasts.

The 3 reasons I find it hard to break away from the EG are the extra tonic slot, the ease of no-stuns like you said, and the fact that the "aim-high" aspect of the crossbow tends to make many of my shots not count as headshots... I still find it less intuitive to aim above the head, and I never bothered to gauge it using the player's name as a reference point... ahhh, laziness...

lol I may be over exaggerating. maybe a good 200-300 hours worth of EB/headshoting since I'm basing it on my playtime own overall playtime.

..I was no-stunning like a true "pro", after barely breaking 40 Hours.

Some people just take longer to find they're sweetspot, wouldn't feel bad. if anything, just keep trying EVERYTHING, it took me one loadout change to go from bodyshots to knockin' maska off. :p

CTS being the most popular is very intriguing! It's the other way around on the Xbox, people live for the solo games and just go into team to sharpen their teeth now and then. But SOTF is where all the high-stake action is.

I've dabbled in both worlds. Xbox is FFa. PS3 is CTS teaming usually in 3's+

Xbox is CB
PS3 has lot more shotguns, leg up, and aerodash....because they actually work.

Suiciders is around the same amount.
I was better than everyone on PS3 in under 10 hours of gameplay....besides phly Pinoy.

Controller transition is pretty easy and it feels like you can fire faster with the PS3 controller.

Alts i played were IXIXIXIXIXIIIX something like that.
There were three of them I could tell one was phly pinoy because he was the only good one. The other two spammed GL.

noscopeneeded raged on his host.
Fadedsoldier was the only person on my list. (I gave him a good beating :) )

If lanceglorytower can transition over and be a top player on PS3 than anyone can....no offense lance.

The only person I could see being a top player from PS3 on xbox is phly. It would be cool to see what he would do without leg up and aerodash. Maybe Rybow would have been, but we'll never know becasue he tended to stick to low tier players when he played on 360.

In under 10 hours of gameplay I received around 50 hatemail messages. Add to my total received on Xbox 360 over 4 years of gameplay. It's leterally around 10,050 hatemaill messages.

There's also been a sudden flood of new level 50's, that are decent. Which, is what I ment since they can be a nice little battle. :p depending when he last played anyway.

PS3 sounds like such a better experience overall, so much more opportunity to employ different strategies and weapon combos if you're not fighting lag the entire time :(. And I love that the objective modes are more en vogue there, deathmatches get sooo repetitive after a while but i never grow tired of objective modes.

And lemme just say again that I'm so GRRRRRR that DeepFears has forsaken us like this :mad:! The kid drank five beers, is he grounded for LIFE :p!?

That's the reason I just can't come back to the Xbox. It's incredible the difference in performance between the 2 consoles. On the other hand though, the PS3 has a "distance blur" not found on the Xbox. On the Xbox, even if your target is on the other side of the map, they are clear, crisp and easy to target (you can still make out facial features) however on the PS3, at the same distance they are, well, smudges... with colouring. I suppose that is the trade off of quality for performance.

I like playing low levels, I find it interesting how many ways they can kill me. I also like it when one of them get the big daddy suit, it's like "God Mode" for them. I've let low levels (true noobs) kill me before, just because we still need people to play. I'm all for the fun of it. No harm in letting the new kid feel good about taking down a rebirth level 47 (current).

I second this, the amount of times I've died from being way to aggressive is off the charts.

its an old habbit but on the xbox box spam is used on big daddies and for some players to get the one shot off when someone uses the headshot block technique

I kinda expected it to be the manipulation of the characters body to cause the damage to become a body shot instead of a headshot. I've heard of the method before but I've never tried to explore the concept. I have explored the idea of permeant Houdini on, but that method is extremely unlikely to discover.

I've tried the Houdini Route method with just staying in Houdini and simply move from vending machine to vending machine. It is a semi method but the problem with it is the massive drain on eve. I'm trying to see if there is a way to glitch the telekineus hold object and apply it to houdini to stay in houdini as long as you hold the trigger button.

I need some serious advice from people who record videos. I tried recording with my webcam and it's insanely bright half the time. How do I fix this? Is the webcam, or the TV causing this?? Is it even fixable? It's so bright to where you can't even see the majority of the game. I put up an example video so you can watch and tell me why it looks like this. All advice will be much obliged.

lol i knew you just wanted to spy on me....haha too bad my loadouts change daily. and the oe thing i thought about when i was in daddy suit is now people will know where i put my mines =( oh well. and haha actually he uses the default i cross my heart. which is why he can just jump on mine no problem and pretend to be me, and lol he is chanmpion t-bagger isn't he......kinda disturbing to think about.
