I thought the patch would fix Vendingmachine sound, but not mine. The patch was so small i took it for a regular game update. Or has the big patch not yet been deployed? I am on Xbox 360! /Johan

From Cult of Rapture:
Note: There are two important fixes that are already routing through a future patch: For 360 and PS3, we will be adding a color-blind mode for hacking and we will be fixing vending machine sounds for all three platforms.

From Cult of Rapture:
Yea i know, but since some weeks ago, on cult of Rapture hompage it says, "Patch for Xbox 360 and PS3 out tomorrow" Guess that wasn´t the big patch? I always thought the patch took care of everything. Was that patch just taking care of the freezing and lag in MP? /Johan

The current patch (released for Xbox and PS3, still pending for PC) takes care of the issues listed on CoR.
The majority of those issues, for Xbox and PS3, were multiplayer freezing issues.
Whether or not it actually worked is up for debate, since users still report problems, but some users report a better playing experience.
Yes, originally it sounded like 2K would address ALL issues in one patch.
But from the issues they identified in the patch notes, and their own note that some items would still be addressed in a future patch, it's clear that they shifted their focus to multiplayer for this patch in order to address a handful of multiplayer stuff specifically before they released the DLC.
So yes, we're still waiting for more fixes, including single player fixes, including the vending machine sounds, in the next patch.

The vending machine sounds were actually one of the first issues acknowledged by the tech staff. We were told they were meant to be included in the final shipped product and will be fixed when a patch came out.
2K announced they were working on a "big patch" to address multiple issues. 3 months pass and a patch is being released.
Why would this not include one of the first problems identified?

I guess they don't deem the vending machine sounds "crucial" to getting Multiplayer and Single Player and DLC playable and functional. While I want the sounds working, and you want the sounds working, our opinions are a bit further down on the list of importance as such would not increase their income.

I just figured that it wouldn't be too difficult to fix this.

Because they wanted to try and get the multiplayer working with the (fail of a might I add) DLC, and they've left single-player and various other important issues like framerate and save game corruptions on the back burner so to speak.

First issue addressed in the game, but after six months they are still silent.
