Hey peeps

I bought Bioshock 2 when it was released a few weeks ago and just installed it. Already I have windows live flashing on my screen asking me too make an %$#@@@ account if I want too be able too save. Is this windows live really necessary to be able too save.

And if I don't need it too save how can I turn it off.

Yes, it's needed, but you can create an offline profile so you can play the game without needing a connection to the internet.

thats good. I really miss the days when you could simple install a game have fun playing it and save without jumping through hoops. Today I find that games are requiring your name/address and phone number too be able too play.

Mind you there was one game that all required was the cd key too activate game. And if you used that cd key more then four types in one year you would have too petition for a new one. Or was it after four uses you were were emailed a new cd key and the old one was deleted server side.

Anyways I hope Mafia 2 does require hoop jumping. To some degree with securrom and other goodies I think it drives people too pirate behaviour.

It's not a problem at all,you don't even need internet to play. The account works offline.

To be honest,i like GWFL and i just don't get why people keep talking **** about it.

The initial buggy system (you need the internet at least once to be able to play) reminds me of the product of interns and a lack of QA (or the ignoring of QA)

I like 2k they make awesome games and support them by taking the time too purchase the pc games instead of pirating. With that being said I believe that not having a chance too save your game without filling out a Windows Live flash screen account is demeaning too the player and game.

It would be as if I created a game and 2k were the players and on released they purchased the game for $60.00 and started playing and wanted too save but instead a Windows Live survey screen appeared ..saying

Windows Live requires you to take a few minutes too fill out this survey before being allowed too save your progress.

And I understand it was an busniess arrangement which may have benefited both sides. But I think 2k has too weigh the impact of such things more so when Mafia 2 will be a big hit.

I may not have mind it so much if windows live was attached too multi play but too interfer with a player trying too save his progress for me deters me from buying.

And with securom and such even more so maybe a new system of activating a game should be looked at. Maybe a cd key activation only which can be used 4x a year before its canceled a player is emailed a new cd key.

That way people pirating any game will be very limited on how many times a cd can be used for activation .
