Updated: February 18th, 2011.

My BioShock website - formerly RaptureArchives.com, and then BioShockArchives.com - has finally found its home at Game-Archivist.com, a site dedicated to preserving great material from great games for fans to enjoy.

http://www.game-archivist.com

There is currently a BioShock giveaway, some new content, and more new content coming.

I hope you enjoy visiting the website, and I welcome all feedback.

Thanks!

I love how you made the pictures of the citizens look like they were reacting to the photo being taken. Like Steinman spotting the camera and Cohan looking stunned.

I'm glad to hear people are enjoying the site!

I have plenty more to come, it's just been a bit slow this week because I've been sick and busy.

Eloeo, yes, I will be adding screenshots from other fans! With their permission, of course. I got the email you sent, so thanks for sending me your screenshots! I'll pick some of my favorites, and I'll feature them on the site!

Wow, someone visited my site on an iPad :)

They spent 6 minutes on the site, and they looked at 5 posters, 5 paintings and 1 screenshot.

I hope they had fun visiting my site on their iPad!

LOL, it's also very cool to see that people are checking out my site on their PS3s.

Relight that is some impressive work. You have the best Bioshock site out there, I'll make sure to scour ebay because I am sure somehow thru some miracle "yardsales", printed images from unknown sources (your site) will be sold.

There's no area currently there called Signs. Clear your browser cache and see if that helps?

This is true. Then again, I've covered most of the major things I wanted to cover. Adding more stuff would involve lots of work taking time that I don't have, and there's some stuff I'd like to add but simply can't. I still have a few goodies left, and I'll try to update occassionally. But yeah, there won't be major updates like there used to be.

you should add more character models and stuff like the plasmid bottles and things that I PMed to you that one time...I know you said something like their resolution or something wasn't very good...but they're something,at least :) ...At least take some consideration into it,won't you?

Maybe someone could help you updating it then .-. I really believe there is much more that could be added, like more masks, more in-game screenshots (there's also enough to be explored here, and there are some really artistic areas in Bioshocks 1 and 2 that hasn't been covered yet), audio logs, and so on...

Oh ok, I'll try that. But I have one question. How did you get the kelp background? That was a PS3 DLC exclusive? And you play on PC. T_T

Yeah, there's definitely more that could be added. Audio logs are covered by other sites though, so I didn't feel a strong need to get them added. And then besides screenshots (which we have huge threads of in this forum, even though I would like to add more), there's basically the models of characters, masks, etc., and I always struggled with the best way to present those. Thoughts on those?

Not sure which kelp background? Please provide a link to the specific image and I can tell you where it's from.

What browser are you using? I've tested the site on all major browsers - even on an iPod touch - and people have visited the site from consoles too.

Ah yes. This is one of the "skyboxes" in the resource files, hence why it's in that section on the site. There is a full explanation of skyboxes on that page on the site. The skyboxes are all the background views that you see out the windows when you walk around Rapture. So it wasn't a PS3 DLC exclusive, it was actually in the original game.

However, I know it IS possible to get the PS3 files. No one has been willing to help me get them though.

Wow. So they shipped it with the game but never used it until the challenge rooms. Cool. Thanks Relight. :D

Relight, one thank you for the excellent site, my city in the Sims 2 loves the new posters :D

But I wanted to ask about a particular poster from BioShock which I wondered if you could find, it is on the wall of the apartment in the Fighting McDonugh, the one you have to electrobolt open on the second floor. It is like an offical notice as it says, "Attention all un-modified Citizens" (it also appears in some multiplayer maps). The reason I would like to see it is because it comes with another variation of a logo for Rapture; a 'R' with one of these '~' above it.

Hmmmm.... are you sure? I'm pretty sure it WAS used in the original game.

Yeah, good point, there are a good bunch of "posters" that I consider to be "signs" - I do have them all, and always planned to add them as a separate section. Maybe that should be the next update I work on getting done! Give me a few days to put those up.

Hey everyone, old thread here but I figured this was the most logical place to post this, rather than starting a new thread. I wanted to provide an update for anyone interested in my website - it has moved once again... hopefully for the last time!

(After all, besides the fact that people think my site has disappeared off the face of the internet, it's really a pain to edit all my old posts and update the links to make sure that there are valid links for anyone reading old posts in these forums :p)

My new site is Game-Archivist.com (http://www.Game-Archivist.com).

Why the change? I started the site as RaptureArchives.com, and then another fan site cropped up with the same name. I decided to move to BioShockArchives.com to avoid confusion with the other site, but then I started adding content for Mafia II to my site as well. Ever since then, I've thought about expanding the site further to provide the kind of high quality content for other games that I provide for BioShock, and it felt weird to have content for other games on a website named BioShockArchives.com.

It all started with BioShock though, and I definitely won't be ignoring BioShock even as I spend time adding cool content for other games. In fact, I'm working on some of the coolest BioShock stuff for the site yet. Updates on the site are much fewer than they used to be, but I'm committed to having a homepage now that will always tell you exactly what the latest updates on the site are, to make it easy to visit quickly and check if there's anything new.

To celebrate the new domain name, I'm giving away some BioShock goodies for North American fans (I really apologize to the international fans - I just can't personally afford to ship out goodies internationally) - so make sure to visit the site, check out the updates, and enter the giveaway draw :)

Lastly... just a huge thanks to everyone who has supported my site in the past and made nice comments when I posted things here on the forum. I really appreciate the support, and it has motivated me to keep working on new content... so thanks! I look forward to many more great games and many more good times here on the 2K Forums with all of you.

Which is the old site name, Relight mentioned earlier. His website deals with content from multiple genre's of games which imo, is super cool.

RA.org only deals with content from the BS franchise. If anyone would like to help me with it, contact me. I have been working on it and converting it since November when I took it over from the previous owner.

Hey everyone, saw some nice response to the giveaway so far but not too many entries yet - that means the odds of winning are good!

I'm continuing to add updates to the site when I can.

This weekend, I added the Sinclair Solutions Consumer Rewards Program messages. I enjoyed listening to these as I ranked up, and they helped add at least a little to the Multiplayer "story" for me. I thought some people here on the forums might like to read these again, and would enjoy the convenience of having them all together on one page:

Hi Relight,

Great work as always - I've updated my bookmarks, looking forward to seeing what else might make it's way onto your site in future months :)

Any chance an international can enter the giveaway if we pledge that should we win we pay any associated postage or make a donation to the site? Would love to have a chance at that mask!

Regardless, thanks for your continuing work with the Bioshock and Mafia fan communities.

Any chance an international can enter the giveaway...

Doing this complicates the giveaway, but I'm open to exceptions. If anyone has a similar question, please contact me via PM instead of posting here.

In other news, I've created a complete index of all the articles on the Cult of Rapture. I've found it hard to look up old articles on the Cult, trying to browse the old articles and having to go through a zillion pages, so I hope that this index will be helpful to anyone else looking up old articles on the Cult. It's definitely a trip down memory lane! There's so much great stuff on the Cult. All links in the index lead straight to the official Cult of Rapture website.

By the way, I have a lot of good stuff that I'm working on for my site, so make sure to visit every once in a while :)

That's a great deal to get BioShock for $5! It's always awesome to hear that someone has discovered the awesomeness of BioShock :) I have been playing the first BioShock game again myself recently and just having a great time remembering how truly amazing it was when it came out - and it still is!

I just wanted to provide an update for anyone interested, to let you guys know that there's lots of new content coming to the Rapture City Archives at Game-Archivist.com (http://www.game-archivist.com/).

The fun gets started with updated Museum sections for Minerva's Den, as well as two new features in the new Behind the Scenes section: "Loading Screens" and "Audio Diary Portraits".

(If you happened to see these features earlier today, both have received updates this evening.)

Well, this is going to be quite a bump! I am curious who from the old days is still active here :) Hello to all of you! Would be great to hear from some familiar faces :) Just wanted to see what everyone was up to and how everyone was doing. I have a ton of content, including some very exclusive stuff, that never made it onto my site. Perhaps someone has already discovered these things, and I just haven't heard about them, since I haven't been active. I'm also just curious if anyone is still passionate about the original BioShock games anymore, and if so, if anyone might have some time they could dedicate to helping me with a project or two :p At the same time, I know there's a ton of content that I could never acquire, and I really wish that, since some significant time has now passed since these games were in their prime, that as a dedicated and longtime fan and fansite, I might be able to get in touch with someone at 2K about a few things. Does anyone know who the best 2K person to contact these days through the forums would be?

Thanks for your time, and cheers :)
