just felt like I needed to vent here...but...I lately I had been watching Ebay for some Bioshock figures that were really cheap and had no bids on them yet,and they had only a day or less on their time limit left and a bit ago I checked to see if anything about the changed, and I found that they had been mysterious removed from Ebay because it said their time limits had expired, when they really had not...and I am just soo mad about this, and the reason being because I don't live directly near a store that sells them..and I'm just really upset about this

Well sellers can end their own auctions early with no bids.

Yeah. I don't use eBay, but I assume that with all internet functions, it could have just been a mis-communication across time zones.

that may be,but I still think it's mysterious, and I don't think it's right either...what if someone did bid money and they ended the auction/took the item off anyway?? I'm just so mad about it..it's frustrating watching items on Ebay for days, then suddenly the item is ended before it actually ends for no rhyme or reason  but I guess that's Ebay for you...

A seller can't end/remove a listing if there is a bid, the only way too avoid something like that happening again would be too throw a bid on it when you see it.

well most of the time items like action figures have a bid and buy it now option. so chances are likely that bidders stuck to the buy it now option cause it was only a few more dollars difference. like i usually stick to buy it now cause it's like my hearts garuntee that i'll be getting my item instead of the let downs of bidding :(

I rarely use Ebay to buy what I want because everyone and their brother including grandma Sue uses it.

I think the last thing I bought was a ultra rare system shock 2 EB store poster back in 2008, those things are harder to find than a I.C.E Code Breaker book ;-)

The market for BS stuff on ebay right now is insane and I will not support the parasites.

Not everyone selling something is a parasite...

I listed my stuff, because my parish is dire need of funds and they could use the money a heck of lot more than I can afford to keep a beautiful piece of art.

I wish I could keep it and everything I have, but keeping the lights on at where I take my family to worship our God is more important to me right now. :)

Damned priorities... :/

have you SEEN the prices for just some of the Bioshock figures on Ebay? it's ridiculuous! My Bouncer figure that I got from a Toys R us wasn't NEARLY as expensive!

I'm not saying everyone who's selling isn't a parasite...

I'm just saying not every who's selling is one...

[double checking logic.....]

yeah... that's what I mean :)

Yes, I am sorry High5 I was not directing my response to anyone particular, I was commenting on a trend I have noticed lately, if there are reasons for selling the swag for real life reasons (other than wanting more money) that is one thing, however my comments are aimed at the people that have a mask from SitS and send in photos to Liz to get another mask, only for the purpose of getting rich quick on Ebay. If I was part of 2K's marketing team I would have a meeting about cutting off people who hawk the goods on ebay that they get as gifts.

I give props to the members that gave an extra mask/shirt/swag away in some form of a contest rather than selling it for monetary gain.

The Dark Knight swag was policed and I think 2K should do the same.

As a sidenote, I am not interested in any of the masks that 2K has released so far, I am only interested if they release a full face bunny mask from BS1. The others are nice and all but unless I got one of the others for free, I won't be bidding/buying any.

No worries man, I can understand your frustration with those individuals. And I don't blame you for not wanting to contribute to the problem.

All good, and thank you.

As far as I know this isn't true. A seller can end their own auction regardless of bids up until twelve hours before the ending.
I think the reason for this is a lot of businesses use eBay while still keeping things for sale in their shops, so if someone comes into the shop and buys something they cancel the auction, even if there are bids.
I have had to cancel an auction before and I seem to remember that one of the options you get for your reason for ending is something about the item being sold already. I could be wrong, but I think I remember that.
And when I ended the auction there were bids on it, so I know you could at that time. Maybe they have changed things though.
