I can tell you where the code is...but I'll wrap it below...very minor spoiler..if even that:

once you find the audio diary and listen to it, the boy gives you the code. You;ll find the gift in the room.

It was a shame, I found the basement door first, and used Telekinesis to get the gift before I found the audio diary. Spoiled it a little!

It's a present with a rose inside, by the way.

am I the only one that thinks that that little boy was forced to record this messag to lure the little sister somewhere safe and then harvest her?
I mean the message sounds as if the boy was reading from a piece of paper plus there is a big daddy corpse burried by some stones in the room with the gift.

No, you're not the only one, but I don't agree with that theory.

If a little kid wanted to record a message, I imagine he'd write it down first to make it easier. Hence why it sounds like he's reading.

The dead Big Daddy was crushed under rubble, most likely when the park flooded and everything was destroyed. Plus, there was actually a gift. I think the Little Sister probably went looking for the gift, but the park was flooded and everything was ruined, making it a rather sad story.

If it were a trap, I would have thought that would be more obvious to the player. The little boy who records the message doesn't have splicer parents (you can hear diaries from them both elsewhere in the game), and the note sounds more like what a kid would write, not an ADAM addict looking to trap someone..
