Locked pawn shop?

After dropping down into the pawn shop to get the camera, I'm stuck, as the front door to shop is locked. The splicer that picking up the camera activates comes to the front and starts beating on something ( not the door ). I gather from some other threads that some splicer or another is supposed to break the lock, but I odn't know when that's supposed to happen. Somebody mentioned the brute you meet when you first enter the area, but I dropped him quick and never saw another.

Am I supposed to restart the area and let the brute live for a while or something?

research the splicer outside the door. should open it I think.

All you've gotta do is aim the camera at that splicer that just came, and left-click. That will trigger him to open the door.

I've also read that you can use Electrobolt to open the door.

Yes when you get the camera the splicer outside the door should glow Gold,to open the door simply activate the camera like you would fire any weapon.Upon starting research the door will open.
