View Full Version : Want Time + Money Back! Save menu stutter = lost game time.

My game is stuttery -- especially on openning any menus and Glod forbid I go to the save menu. Half of the time it jumps me straight to the 'start new game' menu and what I had JUST ATTEMPTED TO SAVE I have just lost. Sometimes up to 30+ minutes of game time!

I've taken to saving ridiculously because of the bugs and twitches making the game difficult to play, but on top of that, I have the potential to lose gameplay simply for TRYING TO SAVE THE GAME.

What the @#$%@ is this, 2K? Do you NOT want my money? Cause I'm this close to asking Steam for a refund. A game I can't play or save-- or constantly ahve to replay -- is not a game I want to keep on my Box.

Get us a bug patch or start coughing up our money.

And for the curious:

Windows 7 Home
AMD Athlon II X2 240 (2.8ghz dual core)
4GB RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 8500 GT

I should be able to run this with no hitches!

I am having the same issue. I try to save; it works sometimes. Other times I am forwarded to a 3 item menu where I can choose Single Player, Multi Player, or Exit. I choose single expecting to get back to my game, and I lose all progress.

Very frustrating. Where is the QA on this?

This is exactly what happens to me. It's so frustrating! How do you expect people to play the game if they can't even save without possibly losing their progress?!

Yes, I am. It autologins in as I have set it to do so.

To minimize the possibility of a conflict with other software please try the following steps to test:

Please fully disable any background software on startup by using msconfig (please see below)

- Click on the start menu
- Click on run (Hold the windows key and tap R for Vista or Win7)
- Type in the following MSCONFIG and select ok
- Click on the startup tab
- Select "disable all"
- Click on apply and then close
- Restart your computer
- Select do not show this message again if a popup box appears and select ok

There may be temp files causing the problem to occur also. To remove your temp files please try the following steps:

- Click on the start menu
- Click on run (Hold the windows key and tap R for Vista)
- Type in the following %temp% (including the percent signs) and select ok
- Remove all files and folders within the directory that appears by clicking Edit and select all and pressing your delete key on the key board.
- Please remove any files from recycle bin

This should cprevent unwanted applications from starting when Windows does until you choose to start them. If this does not help and you are happy with the change you can simply revert msconfig by going back through the process and select enable all instead.

Please let me know if this helps.

This did not fix the problem entirely, but did improve gameplay, especially were the hacking menu lag is concerned.

There is still lag going to the menu screen (Sometimes up to 30-40 seconds), and while I have been punted to the 'single / multiplayer / exit to windows' menu less often, I'm still getting it on occasion.

Still no fix, two weeks later. No patch for Steam purchasers.

I will never buy from 2K again. Thankfully, you don't own any IP I want to play OTHER then BioShock, so that shouldn't be hard, either.

Where is the patches that we need? The fixes to play the game? I went back to playing WoW and Dragon Age rather then deal with BioShock 2's issues.
