BS2 Random Freezing on Ps3?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but my BS2 has frozen half a dozen times in random places on my PS3. My PS3 is just over a year old, but it hasn't done this with any other games.

Is this a known bug or is it my machine?

My game hasn't frozen completely, but I've had controls stop responding once. As it happens, I didn't have a saved game at that moment, and the latest checkpoint was from almost two hours before, so I just stopped playing. I'll probably trade it in this weekend and rent it from GameFly later, as I don't feel like replaying those two hours over again, plus I'm tired of switching my ps3 resolution to 720p and back to 1080p, because the game looks like crap in 1080p :(

By the looks of it, it doesn't look like there was any sort of QA involved before this game was released, since the issues it has only a blind wouldn't notice.
