All Gamestops in my area are not having a midnight release because so many people canceled on them. So sad I was goin' to get all spliced up and everything. :(

I just seen a poster at GameStop that says the line starts at 10:00 pm. I'm going to try and bring some friends and sit out for two hours. But I don't think they want to sit in the cold for a game that they'll never play.

I just pre ordered mine from Game-stop, but had to get PS3 cuz LE 360 was sold out. Do you think I will be able to pick it up, and then exchange the game only for an XBOX copy?

That's kind of retarded. I was in a similar situation (preordered MGS4 in the mall, mall wasn't doing a midnight opening but this other shop a few blocks over was). Except the guys from the real mall worked with the guys in the strip mall to make sure all their preorders were transferred over to the strip mall (after contacting the customer to make sure it's cool), the actually stock moved.

So I ended up getting MGS4 at a midnight launch even though the store I preordered at wasn't doing a midnight launch.

Yes, I did shop at GameStop at one point in time. I'm sorry, it won't happen again!

Something inside me wants to show up at the midnight launch anyways, just to be around fellow fans. But I don't have a spare $60 just to buy the game early, only to re-buy it the next day anyways.

Lol, not a bad suggestion. I think there should be an option for getting your games and / or guides at the launch but then going to bed for work and school the next morning, haha.

Haha yeah lucky for me I dont have to do either. I got an interview on Monday, which will hopefully turn into an offer, then goin to the midnight launch and not worrying about work til the following monday. So yes, I will be playing quite a bit that night

Gamestop.com has a list of the stores doing the midnight release and i wanted to go see if the one i preordered from is on that list but i cant access it for some reason.

I'd love to go but our local store said they didn't have enough preorders. They've had midnight openings for many other games but unfortunately for some reason Bioshock 2 just isn't big enough around here :(

Depends are your store. We are going to be doing some trivia and what not at mine. I can't wait, but wish had more PS3 friends picking it up. I have more 360 friends picking it up, but my friend is also hugely into BioShock is getting it on PS3 and she and I have had it planned to pick ours up on the midnight and play that night.

I've pre-ordered the regular edition from Steam (gifted my included copy of BS1 to a friend and got him hooked!) as well as the CE from Amazon. That said, I'll have to check and see if there are any release events in my area. If there are, I'll hit one just for grins. Voted as such (because I will be playing all night and still be going to work the next morning).

Hopefully it won't be like it was when WoW: TBC was released - bought it at midnight, stayed up all night and then I was the only IT person to even bother showing up for work the next day...

I have Tuesday/Wednesday off from work so my plan is to go to the launch festivities, hopefully win a prize, and then come home, install the game, and maybe play the first level. Then go to bed and enjoy a nice long play session tomorrow. I might not even play the first level tomorrow night, maybe just get in a quick multiplayer session or something.

I hope they actually have "launch festivities". I pre-ordered ODST and got a phonecall the day before saying "come at 10 for our pre-launch festivities". Do you know what those were? Standing outside a locked door for 2 hours until midnight. Whoop-de-do.

Bioshock 2 releases Tuesday, February 9, and to celebrate the return to the undersea city of Rapture, more than 2,500 GameStop Stores nationwide will host launch events on Monday night, February 8, with sales starting at the stroke of midnight.

Leading up to midnight, most of these stores will host special events, including an ADAM scavenger hunt, a Big Daddy dress-up contest, a BioShock trivia challenge, an ADAM prize drawing and more.

Most participating GameStop locations will open at 10 p.m. local time, but contact your local store to confirm times, and the events planned for that store. If you've pre-ordered Bioshock 2, you need to pick it up at the store where you reserved it. Click below to find a participating store near you.

Right ... I got the same email. Called my store. Manager said they were going to do festivites, but they all got cancelled because of the snow from the weekend. He said he didn't think any of the stores were going to do activities in our area.

They were going to open at 10. Now they're opening at 11. Has anyone found a store that is actually confirming "festivites"?

Well my Gamestop went ahead and is still doing it's midnight launch! It's not doing the festivities though since they didn't expect too many people to show up because of the snowy, icy roads.

Sigh, I can't go to the midnight release. Being just under the age requirements to get m rated games is terrible.:( 6 months and 1 day. From then on, I'll be able to get any game I want.
