So I have the Special Edition pre-ordered with Amazon for £58.97, but having seen the Rapture Edition advertised at £38.99, I'm actually quite tempted to cancel with Amazon and pre-order the Rapture Edition instead.. The only thing I'd really miss is the Bio2 CD Soundtrack, but for a £20 saving, is it really necessary. Plus, the Rapture Edition will sit on proud display on my shelf next to the Ltd. Edition of Bio1 quite nicely (never managed to find a copy of the Collectors Edition with the Big Daddy at a reasonable price) whereas the CE of Bio2 comes in a rather large box..
Which edition are you guys going for, and why? I'm really being swayed towards the Rapture Edition, but will I regret it like I did by not getting the Bio1 CE? Discuss! :)

... it isn't a vinyl CD... it's something called a "record."

The Rapture Edition does come with a Hardcover book and I'm 99% sure it's the same size as in the Collectors Edition - Just from a Printing point of view, it would make sense to produce a longer run of the same size than 2 different versions.
I have to admit, the 12" Vinyl is tempting, but I don't have anything to play it on, so it's kinda redundant - V. cool collectors item though, and very much in keeping with the Art Deco inspirations..
Still leaning towards the Rapture Edition..

It's actually a smaller artbook in terms of content... don't know if it's physically smaller but the chances are that it is. The Rapture one is 96 pages and the Collector's is something like 134...

That would make a lot of sense actually - Instead of altering it as such, just leave a big chunk out.. Cheers for that :)
I'm really tempted by the Collectors Edition, but I have a feeling it might just sit in a bcupboard like my BladeRunner Collectors Edition because it's just too big to fit on a shelf..

I'm getting the rapture edition because I'm from Australia, but I'm not quite sure what it comes with.

If you don't have the money but you really want the limited edition, I'd rent the game until you have enough. You won't regret it.;)

@Grimhound
you couldve replaced '... it isn't a vinyl CD... it's something called a "record."' with
'the word your looking for denni0302 is record.'
its night time here, clearly you understand what i mean if you can correct me.
when i said the art book is bigger, i meant more pages lol. i really screwed this post up, but yeah i didnt imply its dimensions are smaller.
@Menderez
oh it is hardbook cover? i heard someone on these forums saying its possibly not, i just went with that :D
finally,
@disciples of atlas

Here's what's included in each version, side by side, and approximate costs for each. (http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/BioShock_2)

I think I'm just gonna get whichever edition is cheaper. And as far as I know, that's just the game, its manual, and its box haha. I can always go on youtube to listen to the songs if I want and I'm sure I'll see plenty of artwork in game. ;)

Id' suggest keeping with Limited, it is on a limited time run, were I bet you could find Rapture editions in stores after release. Also,The art book is A LOT smaller in Rapture Edition. Rapture is about 96 Pages, were the Limited Edition is 164 Pages. Also I would die if I missed out on getting the record and the CD.

Theres no point in me buying the special edition...heres why...
The record...no use to me as i have no record player.
Artbook, although ill bet its full of nice pics, ill probably look at it once and thats it.
Posters, im 29 and have no use for posters, besides even if i wanted posters my mrs wouldnt want them all over the place so thats another no-no.
It wouldve been so much better if 2K wouldve put a big sister figure in there or maybe an eve hypo, on second thoughts its probably more beneficial for me to buy the regular edition and with the money saved, simply buy the big sis and delta figures from play.
I dont mean for this reply to come across as hateful or snide towards 2k as i love the work they are doing and wish them all the best for everything they do....but...
The special edition isnt all that special in my eyes, sorry but you wanted everyones opinion and i apologise if its not what you wanted to hear.

i'm actually doing the same thing i have the regular edition pre-ordered from amazon and bought both the delta figure and BS/LS figure pack coming to about a total of $100 which is the same price as the SE (since the contents don't interest either) so i've made my own SE to myself in a way :p

Yea, same here. The LE really has quite a lot to offer, and the RE is pretty good as well. I think that replacing a figurine with all of these other goodies was a pretty good idea (and know, EVERYBODY gets an artbook!).

Well, I'm convinced the Collectors Edition was a bad idea, and have cancelled the order.. Only problem is, the solus has gone down the £29 compared to £39 for the Rapture Edition - Do I wanna pay £10 for an artbook?!

that's up to you if they offered the rapture edition here in the USA i would have probably pre-ordered that since the art book is the only thing i like about the SE
Normal edition for me!
Being a student and renting a room means I don't really have room for all that funky collecters stuff. Plus, a £30-40 saving is a fair bit of beer money!

Normal edition from a Steam 4-pack for me, most likely. $34.
