Inspiration from Tsutomu Nihei?

I got to look through the art book and I was very impressed. I was wondering if the artists had any inspiration from Tsutomu Nihei (creator of Blame!). I'm a huge fan of his work and the art style is quite similar, in a good way of course.

Once again, I don't think the creators were inspired by a single artist, movie, or something else. They were inspired by the era alone and everything that had to do with that era.
