I recently pulled Civ III out of my closet and was going to reinstall it. So I pop the disc and it says "Install", so I click that and a Install Shield window comes up and it has the following options:

Modify
Repair
Uninstall

So I uninstall and it literally takes 1 second, so I know it could not have uninstalled properly. So I go into "Add/Remove Programs" and see it there with the "Warcraft III" icon next to it, so it must be corrupted or something. I tried removing it there and it said it did, but it will not remove itself from the list of installed programs.

Basically, I cannot remove the corrupted files no matter what, so I can reinstall this game.

Help please!

Usually to remove corrupt uninstall entries I use the windows cleanup utility:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

It shows you a list of programs installed, from that list you can select which ones to remove. Very useful program. :)
