This has to be the longest thread i've seen in my life. Truly it is awe inspiring.
Marching onwards to #1000....I started a thread on another site last wednesday and at time of writing it's already had 387 posts and 4,226 views. One of the moderators at the site PM'd me to thank me for posting it and told me it's one of the fastest growing threads they've ever seen. It's basically a question I posted that's started a big debate, with people clicking onto it all the time. I posted the thread title and initial post earlier on in this thread.
Here's one that's got over three-thousand seven hundred posts (it runs to 248 pages)...

Sure is a quote from the movie. I take screencaps when it's running on my DVD software, complete with subtitles if I want them.
Here's the other one's from V, which is BTW a frickin sweeeet movie. John Hurt does a great British version of Hitler:

I really liked the V for Vendetta graphic novel. I read the comics and the graphic novel. The graphic novel a couple of times. It's one of my favourite comics. But I've still not seen the film. If it's really that good I'll pick up a copy.
I really liked Watchmen also. There were rumours once that they were going to make a film based on Watchmen, but it never came about. I wanted to be an extra in a crowd scene in Watchmen so much :o

I've had facial hair since I was 12, and since then I have never been without side-burns of some kind, right now I have thin sideburns which stretch to just below my jaw-line and goatee which stretches about 2 inches off my chin.

They're a good effect. But...when they start getting a bit long and you don't notice it feels like there's a forest growing next to your ears. It's rather unpleasant and generally gives that sorta gross feeling you get if you don't shave for a while or really need a haircut. *shrug* i look funny without them so i'll leave em.

I've made it to Prypiat. Finally. Getting out of X10 was the hardest thing I've done. I only had 17% armour, and three guns. Two were low on ammo, and the third kept jamming.
And the game cheated. I'd save and then re-load if things went pear shaped. Sometimes there were people in the room with me that weren't there when I saved, and other times they'd run up behind me from places that were dead end that'd I'd cleared out previously.

But what about mods and fan missions :( .
Besides consoles technically have pitiful specs, it's just that the games are optimised perfectly to use the hardware. PC games have to work on every graphics card they can.

But what about mods and fan missions :( There's a good chance I'll upgrade further on (specifically for Alan Wake (unless the 3rd incarnation of the xbox has mouse support)) at which point I'll either crack open my BioShock PC SE (or pick up a regular copy).
Other things that would sway me to be a dedicated xbox gamer— Saitek Pro Gamer Unit (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000BU0F5Y/ref=ord_cart_shr/203-1269320-6479123?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE) compatibility, wii type remotes in place of a mouse and keyboard, PC racing wheel compatibility (free, wireless xbox live at startup:p;))
Besides consoles technically have pitiful specs, it's just that the games are optimised perfectly to use the hardware. PC games have to work on every graphics card they can.But that's what makes them such great value— you're putting the money on the screen rather than into your case (if catch my drift). I'm more concerned with performance than spec.s— I'm less worried about what's under the hood than I am about the quality of the ride.

The only reason most games 'play best on Nvidia' is because Nvidia pays the company's to do this. Not because they are the L337 C4RD M4K3R$.
EDIT: I'm not saying I think Nvidia are crap, I think both company's are good, I just personally prefer ATI.

'eyyy i'm wearing the patch right now actually. Tobacco is the devil. I quit cigarettes a few months ago, but for some godforsaken reason decided it would be okay if i smoked pipe tobacco occasionally. Turned into regularly, then compulsively. No good!
Congrats though, don't it feel good?
...not the tobacco in the eye...the quitting!

Absolutely (I was a chain-smoker)
Watch out for sudden cravings out of the blue three, four, five years down the line. Make a list of all the reasons to quit and memorise it so as to have it for if a sudden craving hits. I've only had two of those, the second about seven years after my last cigarette, but a lot of people have reported sudden strong cravings about three years after quitting. Be prepared for them.http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif

Have you got to The seaside mansion yet, the one with the crazy widow? Definitely my favorite looting mission, cuz you get to thunk a bunch of wealthy snobs as they wallow in their crapulence.
Of course it doesn't compare to Shalebridge Cradle IMO. Whether you find the haunted prison/orphanage frightening is a matter of taste.
If you haven't already, I recommend grabbing the Enhanced textures pack (http://www.thief-thecircle.com/media/t3patches/) for the game, which originally shipped with low-res textures. If you have a halfway decent computer these days, it won't slow down the framerate much. There's also a Minimalist HUD tweak on that page too, to get rid of the obese console-port HUD.

@Raveness,
no,I've just reached the pagan tunnels,I'm playing on 360 and I'm sure the processor has given the graphics a tweak,it looks pretty tasty for a last gen game-I'm very impressed-possibly more so than deus ex,which i thought got bogged down a bit in the middle-the depressing grey pallette didnt help much either.

Whomever okayed these really really difficult challenges for the 'Challenge Mode' of Lotus Challenge should be thrown out of the industry on grounds of sabotage. :I'dincludeatoungeoutsmileyifIweren'tsopissedoffwi ththis:
Yuma County Speedway Dogfight Arena Walkthrough: Drive the track until you can drive it in your sleep. Know the car like the back of your hand. Manual shift and get to know the gear ratios off pat (I manual shift anyway, but if you don't, learn how or you're screwed). Get the perfect start. Race a perfect race. If you can't get rid of most of the traffic on the first lap forget about it. If you make a single error, reset. Repeat the above (particularly the race the perfect race part) until chance cuts you the break that wins you the race.
Tip: Refrain from throwing your xbox out of the nearest window by turning off the sound effects in the options menu, so that you don't get the voice-talent berrating you in his best frustratedly angry voice each of the several hundred times you'd otherwise end up having to hear it.
The most frustrating thing is, I've unlocked everything already twice before. I just keep selling my xboxes.
People without driving wheels and without twelve hours to devote to repeating a single maneuver over and over again until the game likes it would like to unlock the reverse mode too. Lotus Challenge— another game that will make you hate it's developers (and a big thumbs up for including that unlock cheat (oh...hang on, you didn't)).
If it wasn't so damn good (so much so that I'd do virtually anything to unlock the reverse mode) I'd frisbee the damn thing out of the nearest window.

The Lotus Challenge saga continues...
I've completed all the challenges on Jack's challenge path and now I'm at the oil rig advert challenge on Zoe's path.
It has three parts:
Part one: "Do some doughnuts"
Part two: "Drive across the platform and break at the other side"
Part three: [Within 9 seconds] "Put the car in reverse gear. Go back a bit and steer full lock right while hitting the handbrake. At 90 degrees stop turning, put it into first and let the car straighten itself out. Once you're straight, go towards the cones on the far side at 30 mph. About 5 metres from the edge, apply the hand-brake and steer left to broadside (slide the car sideways) between the cones and end up facing the heli-pad. If the car is spinning too much, lower the speed, amount of steering or the amount of handbrake. When you come to a stop, the whole of your car must be in the area with the yellow markings."
Based on how long it took me the first two times, I'm guessing two to three hours set aside to repeat this maneuver until the planets align and I'm able to progress
This time around I'm saving my game to a spare memory module, wrapping it in tin foil and freezing it (actually, might that damage it )

I love short stories, when i was a kid,I'd spend hours reading them,i think its a real art,and perhaps even a lost one, that ability to create atmosphere, drama, and character over very few pages. Anyway, another smoothie anyone?

No, no, no it's good. I was just saying I would have done it differently, I didn't mean that how I would have done it would necessarily be better. I like where this is going. To be honest I prefer it being different, keeps me on the edge. :D
