You start at the beguinning (with nothing). However, it may not be the full beguinning. Have fun! :D

the demo starts from the beginning, but you pick up the wrench, pistol and machine gun.

also you have electrobolt and incinerate to play around with:D

Try using electrobolt, then running up and pressing X. You than can either pay money and hack automatically, or you can play a fun mini game that involves switching pipes around to guide water.

Lol..the demo is great....the turret in the gents toilet is a bit random and caught me off guard lol =D

I actually prefer using the wrench and pistol to the machine gun.

And incenerate didn't really come in useful...I always just used electrobolt.

I know it is the absolute last thing that PC gamers (ecspecially thoughs that swarmed the forum last night) want to hear but the demo is: spoiler free, has most of the goodies that I wanted to try in the full game (wrench,plasmid,guns,bots,) it looks incredible, and the art deco and sound PULLS you into the game. I didn't believe it either but I had some very complex emotions at the end of the demo, nothing shocking happens he Atlas just tells you to go to medical and the screen fades to videos. But being taken out of Rapture is both relieving and horrifying at the same time, it is without a doubt the most spectacular demo (if not game) that I have ever played, it left me wanting so much more. Good job 2k and good job Irrational.

I know you are pissed. As a pc-gamer and non-Xbox owner, I am slightly ... ticked off too. But please stop the flaming, hurling abuse and the swearing. It won't bring the demo to us faster. There was a 60 page rant thread about the lack of a pc demo, so if you wanted to show your frustration, you have done it already and our point has been taken. Continuing this rant will not solve anything and instead, it will degrade the forum discussions. I just read four topics and everyone of them had at least one member venting his frustration.

When i tried the Bioshock demo, my right analog stick always drifts to the right, as if the game's deadzone is too big and the analog can't reach a neutral position. I've also noticed this in old xbox 1 games, and some other 360 games like call of duty 2.

Hopefully it's not so sensitive (the dead zone of the analog) in the ful version, i hate how my view keeps looking to the right when my stick wont center.

Just so you know i've gone through at least 3 new wireless controllers and they all had the right analog stick dead zone problem...but my wired controller, no problem with the analog dead zone at all.

Any info here? I've tried multiple controllers.

But we PC gamers should wait untill we get the info before jumping to conclusions about why its late. All we know is that the Aus studio is still developing it. No biggie, they were always behind a bit from Boston so we should have seen it coming (especialy seeing there was no pc demo at WizWorld).

On the up side, from the 360 crowds comments it looks like the demo is pretty sweet. Asside from the few people ranting about PC demo and the marketplace issue, the demo launch has been pretty dang successful.

Hope you guys that are still waiting on the sloooow download get it finished soon.

I dunno, i've had the same problem on xbox 1 with wired controllers, plus the 3 wireless controllers i had each had different levels of analog drifting or whatever you wanna call it. Seems just a problem with analog stick design in general. Like when you use the 360 pad on pc with emulator, if you don't make the dead zone of the analog big enough, your on screen character runs in one direction constantly cause the dead zone is so small. Hope you understand what i'm getting at here.

The syringes are really cool... they make you sort of go "eugh" the first time....its cool though...

I love how one Splicer stood his ground and took cover when I did that. But then I flanked him, and forced him into the turret's view. :cool:

Generaly this issue is caused by a malfunctioning stick. I've had it happen several times. Probably something to do with its allignment.

You can't until the full game. There are no Big Daddies in the demo

I've found the cat. It's in the double sided darkly lit room with the Revive-tube in it on the left. Here's another cool thing - When you first go into the bathroom area you can see the little sisters glowing eyes in the sister-hole thing on the wall near the news stand. This game really isn't that creepy until you crank up the sound - it impresses me almost as much if not more than the graphics.

Did anyone else find the two Audio recordings hidden in the game? If not and you want to know where they are, one is located in the Kashmir Restaurant next to the huge statue on a table, and the other is located outside the Bathroom where you find the Incinerate Plasmid on a table. Just got the demo.......thought I'd post.

I've been telling people to reserve this game for months now and it's nice to finally play it! Glad to see I was right and that this will be Game of the Year and hell, probably the decade.

The reveal of Rapture at the beginning is....sweet jesus.....when the the music swells up like that?

And then I watched the TV Spot with Beyond The Sea (my favorite song) playing and I've gotta say.....I'm more looking forward to Bioshock than Halo 3.

when you first get incinerate(sp) a guy comes out of the toilets...i set him on fire...then a sink got set on fire lol =S

Did anybody else notice that the subtitles didn't match up to the actual speaking? They were about 2-3 lines too fast so in the the beginning when the hook-hand lady was asking if you were someone new, the subtitles were showing her grunting while she tried tearing open the sphere you came down in. I hope that it's just a demo glitch and not in the retail version.

Other than that, I pretty much blew my load over the demo.

The audio of the demo is excellent. I played with my headphones on which is the only way to experience a game like this and it really kept me on edge with all the creepy splicer talk, the sound of the glass cracking and water rushing in and the Little Sister singing. The voice-overs were awesome as well, when I heard Atlas speak all I could think of was Cheif O'Brien from Star Trek which is t3h sex!

I played on the medium difficulty setting and still found it pretty damn easy. There were plenty of medkits, EVE hypos and ammo. But none of that really mattered since all I used was the Electrobolt and PIMP-WRENCH to ruin the ☺☺☺☺ out of every splicer in the demo. I actually had to go back and play it a 2nd time to actually fire the guns and use Incinerate.

I don't know if I like seeing the health of the enemies, it feels like it makes the game easier knowing how close to death they are. As opposed to not knowing if the four revolver rounds I have are enough to kill a strong splicer or not.

The hacking was pretty interesting but I hope it gets harder as the game progresses since the rate that the liquid flows it soooooooooo slow, you'd have to be semi-retarded not to be able to finish it in time. I also liked the "Buy-out" option so if I have tons of cash and feel lazy I can just skip the hacking all together.

But maybe the difficulty gets UBER hard in the jump from Medium to Hard. I hope so becuase hard is the only setting I play a game that I want to make last.

I was under the impression that the game started out with you in the water which no idea of who you were and what your name was but the intro video was a pleasent surpise since it revealed your name and that your parents always said "you were destined for great things". I'm also curious to know what the tatoos on Jack's wrists are all about.

I can't remember the last time I was looking forward to a game's release this much, I think Bioshock is going to curb stomp everyone else for GOTY.

I think Adam will be used to buy more slots to get additional upgrade/plasmids.

In the demo it shows you have two slots for plasmids but there's another four slots that look like they can be unlocked.

I also think that Adam will be used to buy plasmids and tonics themselves.

While you use the money to buy ammo, EVE hypos, medkits and parts to upgrade the weapons.

You hear/see the splicer pounding on the door and the woman telling him no.

If you go down the stairs you can get into the kitchen when she opens the door.

Just makes the next 8 days worst.... The music and voice overs are Great. Also I notice when I first got electro-bolt the controller rumble made my hands feel like they where being electro shocks where going through my hand plus every hit felt hard (with the rumble). I thought this game might be overly easy bc of the powers and weapons but the demo showed me it isn't. Even with all the med packs I found when I got to that water part where they keep coming at you I died a few times. The check points are pretty nice but I wonder if you can just save at any point?

This will be one game I say is worth the 75 dollars

Oh and the menu with the music notes (small but sets it apart) I heard like 4 or 5 different notes on it

The sequence where the splicers and the LS start examining you and making eerie comments was unsettling to say the least, and excessively awesome! Irrational (sorry...they'll never be 2k Boston to me) have created the penultimate FPS/RPG hybrid. Bravo!

Here are my impressions:

Overall, this demo is amazingly amazing. At first I was scared out of my mind, and for a second the demo persuaded me not to buy the game because I am a weenie when it comes to scary games. But after a while, i got settled in, and it is amazing. Graphics are top notch, gameplay is the best, and the atmosphere is just outstanding. The one thing that I did have a problem with was the hacking system. I could never hack anything.

well electrobolt seems like it could be the best plasmid to always have equiped so if anything does jump out you can shock it quickly. They seem to of got the damage for guns right compared to wrench. Too many games overpower melee such as halo (why would a punch in the face do more damage than a bullet to the face?)

Did anybody else notice that the subtitles didn't match up to the actual speaking? They were about 2-3 lines too fast so in the the beginning when the hook-hand lady was asking if you were someone new, the subtitles were showing her grunting while she tried tearing open the sphere you came down in. I hope that it's just a demo glitch and not in the retail version.

Other than that, I pretty much blew my load over the demo.

The audio of the demo is excellent. I played with my headphones on which is the only way to experience a game like this and it really kept me on edge with all the creepy splicer talk, the sound of the glass cracking and water rushing in and the Little Sister singing. The voice-overs were awesome as well, when I heard Atlas speak all I could think of was Cheif O'Brien from Star Trek which is t3h sex!

I played on the medium difficulty setting and still found it pretty damn easy. There were plenty of medkits, EVE hypos and ammo. But none of that really mattered since all I used was the Electrobolt and PIMP-WRENCH to ruin the ☺☺☺☺ out of every splicer in the demo. I actually had to go back and play it a 2nd time to actually fire the guns and use Incinerate.

I don't know if I like seeing the health of the enemies, it feels like it makes the game easier knowing how close to death they are. As opposed to not knowing if the four revolver rounds I have are enough to kill a strong splicer or not.

i personally loved it to pieces. i was stunned by the visuals that i past at every corner. i was surprised when it ended... and sad. it did not spoil anything for me and it was not too long. it just made me salivate more for the game.

i think it's sole purpose was to make it more tempting for us and a sure thing for those on the fence. i took my time and made sure i didn't miss a thing, but i still think i might have missed something.

Don't be too sure though. Some assets might not have been included to reduce download time.

For instance, the dead cat's ragdoll model. The "Burned Hands" that you have with Incinerate! equipped while using a weapon, and the little flames on your fingers.

All of these are confirmed in videos, however not in the demo. Perhaps they just shaved them off to reduce the data size.

Am I the only one or does it seem like the graphics were towned down in this demo in parts? I mean the part in the bathroom with the turretm I hacked the turrent and watched it shoot the woman splicer, but the bullets made no holes in the walls or smoke effects nothing. This type of stuff saddens me and I hope it was just a towned down version for a smaller data size. the area where you meet the splicer with the grappling hooks for hands (not when you get out at the beggininng, but the misty dark area) made me jump, i couldn't find the thing. I have never been very frightened playing a game before, but the splicers are ingeniously ugly but still human-esque and create a brutal quality that i have never seen before in a video game. God, only 8 more days until it all comes out.

One thing I am curiose about. Who in here, after playing the demo, wants even more to get the hands on the Bioshock complete product?

I count 2 plasmids 1 audio log,3 weapons, 0 tonics

it was good....a bit rushed I thought...i thought there would be more on the actual plane crash. Not just:

"Oh, i'm special." *BIOSHOCK*.."*gasp* ahhhh. Ohhh a lighthouse. lalala *pulls lever*..RAPTURE!!!"

i found two audios, its around the same area as the bathroom one, but you can go down another level when yo uare in the restaurant and you will see to splicers in water, in the watery area there is a table with another audio from somebody's girlfriend.......*cough* ryan *cough*
