The title of the thread pretty much says it, how many times have you beaten BioShock. For me, its only 2 so far, but i'm almost done with my 3rd time, and i hope to keep beating it several more times. But anyways, vote in the poll and write something about how many times you've beaten it, how many times you plan to beat it, or anything else you want to say :D.

I started around my 30th round a few days ago.
I beat it in less then 4 hours...cause I put it back on easy for fun.
I as well...will...never...ever..get sick of this. Until Sea Of Dreams' release, I'll be on/off Bioshock.

Since I got it only a few months ago now, I've only beaten it once. I'm on my second playthrough now, but I'm not getting through it very quickly because now I'm just always loading my previous saved games and ghosting around taking screenshots and stuff :) But I will definitely keep playing it through normally and beat it more times. I want to beat it on all the difficulty levels :)

Im on my fourth. i want to keep playing it until i have almost all of the achievements. (i obviously have it for 360) Right now im working on brass balls. the other times i always saved the little sisters, but i needed the extra atom for the achievement. i feel like a sick, deranged freak. but its still very fun. im gonna have to replay it a couple more times too, b/c i always seem to miss one or two audio diaries, and a tonic or two

3 and it'd be more like 10 if you count all the times I've gotten to arcadia or port neptune and had to re-start. Why you ask? Because I'm a modder and when you mod Bioshock, you have to re-start watch the intro, go through 15 minutes of no gameplay then play for an hour or two to test the features.

To each their own, but - ARE YOU KIDDING??? - the game is awesome! Waiting for a sequel (of course I am also waiting for the sequel to "Clive Barker's Jericho").
Talk about an immersive game... and the ending cutscene is definitely worth all the quicksaves and reloads to get it "right". Of course, I have lots of granddaughters... and an imagination.

Bioshock is one of those games that I've only played a few times (I have the PC Version, DVD).
I don't exactly know how many times I've beaten it. I'd imagine 2 times (although it may have been 1).
I've been meaning to play through it again (only on hard mode this time), and the like.
Usually I just try to reproduce bugs and only manage to get to Fort Frolic or a little beyond it while doing different tests with different settings.
Unfortunately reproducing certain bugs has been more-or-less impossible, otherwise I'd be posting a lot more in the technical support section of the forums. Honestly, I've almost deemed my computer "magical", it seems to have almost zero problems with the game.
Anyway, I'll probably play through quite a bit more soon, so I'll hold off on selecting anything in the poll; but at the moment I'll just say I've fully played through it once, even though I've had it for a very long time.;)

I voted between 6-10 times, but I've really lost count, lol. It's been along time since I've played a game this much, simply for the fun of playing. Ive beaten it on all difficulty levels and got all the trophies and it is still a blast to start a new game and play through to the end. I wonder if Bioshock 2 will make me finally put it down for good? I doubt it.

I've just started my 2nd run through, doing it on Hard this time and going to try get the Research and LS trophies, so far it hasn't been too hard, I've used my brains more, but the 1st BD fight was hard seeing as i didn't have the appropriate ammo lol

I beat it once, just getting a feel for it.
Then again to get all the achievements.
Then I got a new "Live gold" profile so I had to do it over.
Then again for the "Brass balls" achievement.
1,100 gamerscore, sooo worth experiencing the whole story. I'm actually glad there was an achievement to get all the audio logs too because it adds so much to the story I would have otherwise overlooked.

Wow...what a no-life. Playing it up to 5 times is alright but over 20 is just homo. The campaign itself is fun at first, but then it gets really repetitive. Maybe you like playing boring things over and over, or maybe your just truly a no-life. Go outside and do something with your life.

Practically just an over crazed fan with a completely biased opinion. Also probally lacking in early video game experience. You should also try to get a life, either by going outside and playing sports or getting involved in an after school activity. By the way you posted you appear to be a child between the ages of 9 and 12. So quit wasting your life on video games and get active.

Hmm, I have experienced the same problems against multiple enemies. See I buy ammo but you cant be sure what you'll need because the opponents vary all over. LOL . But good luck on beating it!

Just because their life differs from yours doesn't mean they don't have one.
I hate it when people say things like that, I'm sure they do go out and do other things and even if they don't it shouldn't matter if they're enjoying what they do, so don't say stuff like that and it could offend them.

Borrowed Bioshock from my tennis coach. He hated it. I kept it. Tried to play it through, but got bored after I got to Farmer's Market.
Somehow got my hands on the official guide, started a new game, then realised Bioshock was by far the best game I had ever played in my life. I played it through, unlocking everything that was physically unlockable, spending so much time on it, going through areas I had already gone through....
Now I'm right at the point I was in the first time - I've completed it fully once, now I'm at the Farmer's Market on my third attempt, and this time am looking forwards to getting that Bee Spit!!!
So once I've finished that, I've attempted three times, and played it two and a half times. And that's just the beginning...

5 currently working on 6. i try not to play too often. I love the game, I don't want to burn myself out. The DLC could have been so much more.. a new level or just some new areas to explore would have been great.

I play this most days of the week, and am on run no. 12 now XD played it repeatedly on easy to the point where i could whizz through it in an evening, then began on the same for medium mode..XD and eventually will do hard mode too..
I have a short term memory condition, which means after ive played a game through, ill have forgotten most of it, so replaying games is often a necessity for me..

Just finished the game last night! (YAY!)
Before entering the Proving Grounds, I created another game save, which I'm using to finish off my research (need only turrets and cameras for my Expert Researcher trophy) Historian, and possibly Tonic Collector (though, I'm out of Adam, so I may be screwed on that one for this playthrough...) I tell you what, though it's a lot easier when Jack's in full-Big Daddy mode... Splicers all but ignore me as I'm looking around.
My thoughts on Fontaine: (story and gameplay spoilers follow) For a final boss, he may be too easy. It took me 2 times to beat him, and that was only because on the first run, I wasn't paying attention to my health bar... But on the second run, I really only used the grenade launcher and a couple of Plasmids here and there, and the deed was done... I was a little disappointed in the ease of killing him, but he is one fast mofo, so it was definitely intense, even if brief.
Then again, I was playing on Normal, so I may eat my words when attempting Hard or Survivor modes. :D

I have beaten the game four times on the Playstation 3 on every difficulty. Easy and Survivor were the funniest most to play on because survivor was actually a challenge to beat while Easy was fun a good play.

Which plasmids did you use? I only needed the weapon.

I have beaten the game four times on the Playstation 3 on every difficulty. Easy and Survivor were the funniest most to play on because survivor was actually a challenge to beat while Easy was fun a good play.
I know what you mean. I played on easy with New Game Plus. :D It was like free play. And my most recent playthrough I chose the semi-impossible. :P I didn't buy ANY genetic upgrades. I learned to use weapons instead. :D The only thing I spent ADAM on were slots and health/EVE upgrades. Oh yeah, and it was on Survivor. :)

Incinerate (cuz Fire seems to give F some serious damage) and Insect Swarm, hoping to distract his splicer friends...
The battle took me maybe 5 minutes. I completely ignored everything but Fontaine... (well, other than the aforementioned bees for the Splicers)

Same here. I didn't even look to see what he called up to help him - just popped him with 3 grenades for each stage of the fight. Well, I used the heat-seekers first, because you only have 6 grenades, but it didn't really make a difference. He was easy to hit.

Pretty much the same here... When I ran out of grenades, I started pelting him w/ Proximity Mines (which are essentially the same as grenades at that close a range.)

When I went for my Brass Balls and Seriously Good At This achievements, I used the Winter Blast + Heat Seekers for the first battle, Incinerate + Frags/Prox's for the second battle, and for the final one...I just used a whole cylinder of electric gel...it was great! I was inches from his face, draining his health and all he could do was stare. :D

Survivor is really only tough (i emphasize tough) the first 3 stages, then once you start climbing up the food chain it gets easier, especially if you know every nook in the game. O yea, save game after every BD duel.... Rosie rivets are pretty much a 1 shot kill.

Once. Just once. But, the way I play games, I completely and thoroughly explored every inch of Rapture that I could reach, and I'm pretty sure I got all the audio diaries (PC user, so no way to tell from an achievement). I did start a replay to try harvesting instead of rescuing, but I haven't completed it yet.

On survivor mode, the 1st BD is the hardest, make sure you got the path to the room where you creamate that corpse, get the bouncers attention and b line it to that room, get to the top floor of the creamation area, stand where the steps breakoff, and take pot shots from the bottom of the crumbled staircase.
He cant reach you from the bottom just don't get cocky and get close he has a bit of reach..

I find there is massive replay value. It had such an effect on me I play just to experience certain parts in the game. I have far too many save files so I can just run around and attempt different parts in different ways.
The freedom in the combat is so massive and I find I get drawn to one style so I try and force myself to think differently. Also it's quite tricky to get all achievements and those alone add to the replay value. Of course if you aren't interested in achievements then you wont agree. Not everyone has to love the game but I've now completed it 5 times and I have another 2 or 3 play-throughs in mind even now.

Everyone gets a different experience out of the game, so don't take this as I'm knocking your opinion, but...
Did you get all the achievements/trophies on 1 play-through? (if you care about that kind of thing), and you don't want to go back and deal with the Little Sisters differently?

I totally agree, especially about the getting drawn to one style part, I've played through 3 times and I'm currently doing it again for a fourth time and hitting the splicers with Electro Bolt and then the wrench (the "one two punch" according to Atlas) is still in my opinion the most effective attack in the game, especially after you get all the tonics and plasmid upgrades. But right now I'm trying to mix things up and try out Plasmids and different attack strategies I've never used before.

Well Seeing in Some Places YOU HAVE to Use Incinerate and Electrobolt
For Example when you defeat Peach Wilkins your going to have to Melt the Ice to Continue on
Or Did you Mean Youll Mostly Be Using Telekinesis? :D
JimmyTheCannon
04-23-2009, 03:15 PM
I think generally saying you're only using X weapon or X plasmid means that's the only thing you're using *against enemies*.
Obviously when you have to melt ice or zap open a door, you'll have to use Incinerate or ElectroBolt.

Going for all trophies on the PS3 at the same time, gonna run them both now.
Too bad there never were any achievements/trophies on the PC.
But still, gonna run it there in a week or so. Just love to play with mouse/keyboard ;)

I think I'm on my 7th now, but I'm not sure... :o
Since I recently got my "Tough Guy" trophy (beat "Worlds of hurt" in the PS3 DLC with just the wrench, camera and plasmids and tonics), I couldn't resist the temptation to do the same thing with the main game. :) Ok, I'm doing it on easy, but mostly because I think it would be too tedious to do on anything harder. (Some things just take longer to do without any other weapons.) Just got done with Fort Frolic, and haven't had any major problems yet. (The first two Big Daddies were tough though.)
Things you do when you can't stay away from the game and already have all trophies... :D
