Ship date vs. Street date

I apologize profusely if this has been asked/answered before now, but I've got the LE pre-ordered and I need to know.

Is August 21st the "ship date" or the "street date" ? Will I be able to walk into GameStop on the 21st and be able to pick up my copy? I leave for college on the 22nd, so I'd be somewhat screwed if the game isn't in stores on the 21st.

If you live in the U.S/Canada then yes, August 21st if the release date.

It's supposed to be street date.

Stores like EB Games/Gamestop usually ship one day before release date. Thus, your game arrives at street date at home if you don't pick it up at the store.

Do they even do that anymore it usually a machine?Yeah they call you when you game comes in like whenever I preordered the Wii they called me like four days before the console was supose to release to tell me that Red Steel came in, but they made me wait until the Console launched to get the game since I couldn't play it without the console.

Well if it comes out too late it's probably better for you since you need to concentrate on college, not obtaining adam.

Obviously. I'm not even taking my Xbox 360 with me to college. I just want to make sure I can get my hands on the LE and the Big Daddy figurine. He'll be joining me at college for sure. If they're as limited as 2K says they are, I want to make sure I get one.

My EB Games always gets their games 1 day late which majorly sucks, because my college starts on the 22nd too. At least I'm not taking many classes this year.

You guys don't have it half as bad as here in the San Fernando Valley, CA.
Lot's of Meh-hee-kahn-Os.
They get so bad, lets put it this way, a friend was standing on the street waiting, and they start honking at her, and telling her,
"Come here mami. What about me and you"
Yeah...they get creepy. Sure, I'm hispanic, but I talk like a white boy (by that I mean, no visible accent from my parents) and have light-ish skin, leading all my friends to believe I am white.

I feel culturally challenged, though, I can't even speak spanish, but I can barely understand it.
So everytime I talk to one of 'em I have no idea what they're saying sometimes, so like I said, as long as I don't think they are bothering me, I'm good.
