Yeah it sucks... but I ordered from UK as soon as I heard the game wouldn't be out in Denmark until the 20-27. (with a little luck ill have the UK version by monday)

Thanks for the heads up! I just cancelled my order at CDON and bought it at Spelbutiken. I even saved 50 SEK from it :P Now I just have to hope that CDON doesnt mess up with the cancelling. Should be getting the game on tuesday or wednesday.

I also noticed that one of the stores here has had PS3 and 360 version in stock from 13th of June, though they have to be ordered from the internet. I'm not ordering one because I've now seen many stores with the release date of 16th of June, so I'll probably pick up one from a local store.

The wait is soon over! :)

I actually ordered it from Amazon (UK) on the 12th and got it delivered at my doorstep in Stockholm on the 13th...
So I'm a happy gamer :-)

right now the maps are changing once a week, a little gift from Sid and the team to help you over the next couple weeks!Are these only multiplayer maps for the demo, or for single player too? And if so, how do you download the new maps? Do you need to reload the whole demo?

One more question if I may - do you have any idea when the gift for preordering will be known? I want to get my preorder in soon!

i dont think theres anything special being done by a retailer but I know 2k is going to have a "gift-with-purchase" to basically ask for our forgiveness

Wow. Spelbutiken.se lying about having the game and removing the product from their website and not thinking of giving the money back. I've contacted them and require my money back. However, still no Civ. And still no response from any 2Kgames employee. What happened to the release? The last period the community response has been total crap. The big important questions are being ignored, not even a single comment, while small questions that have already been answered several times are being answered again. I'm starting to wonder if I will ever see this game. By the time its released there will be other games to play perhaps resulting in crappy sales for CivRev.

That's just great. It's delayed in America by a few weeks and they need something to forgive them, but here in Europe we get games etc sometimes months after USA, and does that ever happen for us?

Not that I'm bitter at all :p

And I'm glad we got this game first :D

europe is not even big market for games !
what should they do first is to fix they darn internet europe got long way to go with pro gaming .
we got MGS4 and BFBC out before CR and those 2 can keep me bussy for another year .

Surprisingly one of the well-known stores here got a shipment of CivRev on 17th of June, so I got my copy now. :D Although the PS3 shipment was smaller than the 360 one meaning that the PS3 shipment was immediately sold-out.. GameStop still thinks that the release date here is 27th of June (Which is what it might be in most of the stores.) so as they're going to give me a call on the release date, they are going to be shocked when I say I already got it two weeks ago :P

However there's something odd going on with the nordic shipment, as some of my friends are still waiting for it. It would probably be faster to order it from the UK atm.

Btw, IceCube, you have complained about the us release date in every single thread no matter what is the subject, so would you mind following the example of other ppl from the US who don't whine? And the fact is that most of the ppl in the US don't own as fast internet connection as the people in the Europe, at least in some countries. Same with TV's, usually europeans have much better-quality TV's here than in the US.

For Aussies interested in the DS. The release date in all major retail stores is now set for 25th - 27th July. Amazon is beginning to look like an attractive alternative. Hopefully this date will be revised forward over the next 2 weeks.

Confirmed. No games in the Swedish stores yet. Soon there will be no point in buying this until after the vacation (as I won't be home playing that much and because another game I play get a ton of new content by the 10th).

Not sure I understand the need for a gift with purchase due to postponed release date..... does it really matter that it will be a month later than Europe??? (From a biased UK viewpoint obviously)

Just wanted to ask if whether it will be possible to run tournaments AFTER the game is released. Everyone loves swag and I speak for the EU in we'd be gutted if we couldn't have a chance at winning it.....

The full game is a treat.... a few minor multiplayer issues (lag losses) but all round a good investment....

im new to the 2k forums so if this looks weird thats why, yea i downloaded the demo awhile ago when i read about in it my ps3 mag so it said it was coming in june so i went to game crazy and asked if they had it they said it was coming out july 11th so thanks for letting me know why the release date was set back

As for what this gift is...I've no idea, Dawn and Elizabeth haven't announced it yet. I'm personally waiting to reserve my copy so I know whether this gift is worth me giving up my employee discount at my store :)

I understand the situation you're in, but I want to know where to preorder the game from to get which gift I want. As the consumer I have that right.
So, if we heard on Tuesday it would probably be a little too late, but I suppose it's still time to place a preorder? I'm not sure.

yes, you can still preorder now, and since i WILL get the info out on tuesday, you can still walk into a store on wednesday and get it -- it is first-come-first served, but you don't need a preorder to get it.

and i'm also sorry that the word has not gotten out sooner to you guys. as a consumer, i get that, and so i'm working on getting you a consolidated announcement as soon as possible.

OK, this may have already been answered, but I've only gone through about half the pages in this thread... When will the game actually be in stores in the US? CivilizationRevolution.com says July 9th. But walmart and circuitcity sites both say July 8th. Even checked with the electronics people at both stores, and they said July 8th. I'm going to buy this thing at 12:01 when it comes out if I have chase the electronics stock boy all over the store, but I don't want to make an unneccessary, dissapointing trip a day early.
