First off the patch won't install. I have the uncensored version of the game. When I try to run the patch it crashes before it even really starts (0% on the progress) and I get the prompt as to whether I want to debug.
Secondly, once I get past the introduction, you know, past the fire and the crashed airplane, I get into the wannabe submarine and I watch the video, I go through the little tunnel and it fades out and starts loading the next level. Right then it crashes and give me the blue screen of death talking about the nv4_disp.dll file. Now, I've read the knowledge base and it says I gotta have the latest drivers installed. Well I have the latest drivers installed. Allow me to clarify. I have the Nvidia Forceware 84.63 (my video card is a Geforce Go 7900 GS) drivers installed. Now, I've also read that this may not be enough according to a thread about a website called laptopvideo2go.com. I went there and I am not kidding; it's got to be the most confusing website I've ever been to. Nevertheless; I was able to find a modded INF file for the forceware 84.63 drivers. I applied the modded INF file as directed and reinstalled my drivers. It still doesn't work.
What really chaps me though is why should I have to HACK my video card drivers just so I can play a game? (pardon, my sudden burst of frustration there).
If there's anyone out there who can decipher the geek speak over at laptopvideo2go.com website, would you be so kind as to pointing me in the right direction about which driver is the best driver for a GeForce GO 7900 GS for a Dell XPS M1710?
Aside from installing the (clearly necessary) hacked video card drivers, is there anything else I can do to get this game running?
Laptop specs are as follows:
Intel core duo 2Ghz processor
1 GB of RAM
GeForce GO 7900 GS video card
Windows XP sp2 32 bit.
Normal US release of the game.
