* The very nature of the city of Rapture's underwater construction has made potential conditions within the city life threatening. It is feared that the structures which make up the city will not be able to sustain long term internal fighting without imploding and destroying life within. Due to the extremely secretive nature of the creation of this underwater citadel it is difficult for experts from without to estimate how the structures will survive extensive internal damage. Pressure at the depths in which Rapture is constructed means that any type of damage in the protective extremities of the structures would be catastrophic.
* It appears that citizens of Rapture are divided into two potentially warring sides. One group follows Andrew Ryan (the creator of Rapture) and the other is following his main rival, Atlas. Ryan has a loyal group of followers who have blindly followed his idealistic vision to create Rapture. From evidence presented to us we believe that Atlas was a successful entrepreneur who has personally been funding the Rapture's research and development into gene modification. These developments have been deemed illegal in other parts of the world which is one reason why Ryan strove to create his own civilization which could attempt to follow idealistic scientific goals.
* One of the scientists alleged to be involved in the genetic research and development is Dr. Steinman. Dr Steinman is a plastic surgeon in Rapture. He should be avoided if encountered as he is considered extremely dangerous. It is a possibility that he has genetically modified himself and is not to be considered human.
* All refugees who are collected from Rapture are immediately moved into detention camps. Currently, the location of these detention camps is being kept a secret. Governments around the world are concerned about the possibility of genetic change moving into the general population. While there are general fears that the potential revolution which could be occurring in Rapture could spill over to the rest of the world. Governments would like to ensure the safety of their citizens.

Added to this fact is the extreme danger of genetically modified people, some who may have super strength or be able to perform telekinesis or to conduct electricity through their body. It is uncertain what effect these abilities have placed on the mental state of those people who have undergone genetic modification of their bodies.

At the moment we have no credible information on the serious nature of the terrorist threat at Rapture. When we receive any credible information we will update this travel warning.

Rapture is not safe for tourism.

Civil Unrest/Political Tension
Only some credible information has been leaked out of Rapture about the events leading up to the unrest there. It is believed that a power struggle evolved between Andrew Ryan and Atlas. Other parties which may or may not have been involved in the struggle include a man named Tenebaum. The unrest is apparently based over control of a substance called Adam. Adam is the basis for their experimentation into genetic modification. It is said that Adam was extracted from a rare form of sea slug found near the location of Rapture. As further genetic development and modification occured the power to control Adam meant the power to control Rapture. Suddenly, it is believed, that Andrew Ryan possibly lost control of his utopian society. However, much of this information is hearsay and has not yet been verified by an official source.

Crime
Local police in Rapture consist of the security stations outlined earlier. At the moment it is not known what state these stations are in and whether they are functioning at all, or, whether they are being controlled by one specific faction within Rapture. It is considered that crime within Rapture could be going virtually unchecked.

Local Travel
Local travel within Rapture occurs on foot. Travellers are warned not to travel anywhere within Rapture which is not deemed purely essential. You should only travel within Rapture if you are part of some sort of protected convoy. However, considering the uncertain nature of local security in the city we have no guarantee that such convoys exist. It is believed that tourists in Rapture are targeted while moving about the city. Based on the nature of the infrastructure tourists could be considered a target anywhere and travel is not deemed to be safe.

Airline Safety
There are no airlines in or out of Rapture. Airline safety is not a concern. Entry to rapture is made via bathesphere. As such entry and exit from Rapture is somewhat limited.

Natural Disasters
Based on the location of the city of Rapture the greatest natural disaster which can occur is flooding of the underwater city. It is deemed that the location of the city is relatively safe from the ocean floor moving as a result of tremor or movement of the earth's plates. However, this does not mean that the city can not be flooded as part of a terrorist action

Local Laws
It is understood that Andrew Ryan did not implement a large range of laws on the people living within Rapture. Based on the fact that many of the residents of Rapture were invited to live there and were considered a part of the elite within intellectual, sporting and social circles they idealistically chose not to create any form of restrictions through man made legislation.

Entry and Exit Requirements
Current Entry and Exit Requirements are set by the council of Rapture. The city has only recently been opened to tourists. Permanent residents must undergo an IQ or physical aptitude exam prior to being accepted as citizens. Only those people who are deemed to be rated in the top ten percent of the IQ quotient or of physical aptitude will be allowed permanent resident status."

"Health Issues
It is unknown whether the genetic modification of humans has created any new diseases or illnesses which can be passed on. As such, travellers to Rapture do so at their own risk. People travelling to Rapture could be placed in government quarantine for an unspecified period of time in a detention centre before being released back into "normal" society. If it is believed that travellers have contracted some form of unknown communicable disease then it is possible that they may not return to society and will be forced to live at Rapture. So far no one returning from Rapture have contracted any new or known diseases, however, health services remains on highest possible alert for any change in this status.

Where to Get Help
Help can be provided to patient gamers on the 24th of August. At this point in time all questions will be answered as to the outcome of the civil war. Rapture is the capital city of the civilization created by Andrew Ryan featured in the game Bioshock. At this stage nothing more can be said as it is pure speculation. Help can be provided in the form of a PC and an Xbox 360 release from 2K Games.
